Chapter 3- Look at me

[Next morning]

"Thank you for the breakfast! I'll eat it on the way!" I yelled coming out of the house and closing the door behind me with a slice of bread in my mouth. 'Gosh! I am late!' I mumbled looking at my watch

"Y/n!"

"Ah, you scared me!" I yelped when I saw Mark popping his head out of the window

"Stop talking with yourself and run or you'll have to work overtime!" He reminded me

"And you know what to do when you work overtime right?" Taeyong said popping his head out of the window too

"I know brother! I'm leaving! Bye! Love you both!" I yelled before running away 

"I just lost my appetite after hearing those last three words" Mark mumbled

"Same here," Taeyong said

I kept running like my life depended on it and it actually did. While running my eyes landed on a house which was three houses away from ours. The owner of the house had sold this property and shifted to the states and it had been empty for two years. I was a little surprised to see boxes and a truck outside it as if someone was moving in. I walked toward one of the workers who were unloading the boxes from the truck 

"Excuse me... Is someone moving in?" I asked

"Yes, I am moving in," A guy in his 20s said coming out of the house and he somewhat looked familiar

"Do you remember me... Y/n?" He asked as my eyes slightly widened

"How do you know my name?"

"I am a little hurt that you forgot me but I'll help you remember, my name is Kim Young-soo and I was in-" I cut him off by saying,

"We were in same chemistry and biology class in university right?!" 

"Glad you remembered"

"I almost forgot you! Why didn't you come to the reunion this year?" I questioned

"I was busy with something" He replied but before I could ask anything further, a message popped up in my phone. It was from Seol-A sunbae. 

'Y/n! Where the heck are you! Team leader Jeong has already looked for you for five times and if you don't come anytime soon, I'm sure he'll fire you!'  Was what the message said and I cursed under my breath. I checked the time and it was already 9:30!

"Fuck" I mumbled

"What happened?" Young-soo asked

"Young-soo, let's talk some other time. I'm already late. Why don't you come in for dinner tonight?" I said packing my bag and ready to run to catch a bus

"I'm a little busy tonight so let's meet some other day" 

"Sure! See you later!" Was the last thing I said before I started running away. I'm dead for sure today. Even if team leader doesn't fire me, I'll surely have to work overtime! 

[Time skip: IREN & co.]

It was 10 am by the time I entered the office. Entering the elevator, I pressed the 24th floor and kept wondering what were the consequences that I was going to face for being late. But one thing for sure, I am going to work overtime today for sure. Will team leader really fire me? In that case should I start looking for other jobs? The elevator stopped on the 24th floor and before getting off the elevator, I checked the farther ends of the corridor making sure team leader wasn't around. 

"Corridor clear" I breathed out and with small steps, I stood behind the glass door of the room for team 2. I slowly opened the door and sneaked inside keeping my head as low as possible making sure no one notices me but I stopped in my tracks when I heard someone clear their throat and I knew exactly who it was. 

"Coming to office at 10 am... what a lovely thing to do right, Ms. Y/n?" I heard him speaking

"Yes team leader" I replied standing up and dusting the dirt off my clothes

"Ms. Y/n... let's have a nice chat in my cabin" He said before walking away while I followed him

"Joon-woo, you are now watching our dear Y/n getting called in team leader Jeong's cabin for a nice chat" Seol-A said

"Sunbae, Y/n sunbae will be okay right?" Joon-woo asked with concern

"Don't worry, Joon-woo. Team leader Jeong is Y/n's direct supervisor and even if he is a little too strict with Y/n, he'd never do something which'll ever hurt her"

[Time skip: 11 pm]

"Ah! I had to work overtime again! Team leader you are such a jerk! I'll change you contact name from 'Team leader' to 'Jerk Jaehyun'!" I mumbled while walking down the stairs. Brother told me to not stay out for too late and even if I'm late to give them a call but it'll take about to 20-25 minutes to get here. I can't even ask team leader to drop me home cause I'm sure he already left

As I came out of company, I saw team leader waiting in his car. He did not leave? I walked toward his car and upon noticing me, he opened the door of the car indicating me to come in.

"Team leader"

"Get in" He said. Not wanting to argue, I got in the car and he started driving. Even though the car ride was silent, I kept talking glances at him making sure he isn't angry and fortunately, he didn't seem angry. After 20 minutes, on entering my neighborhood, he suddenly stopped the car. I looked in front to see a crowd of people.

"What's with the commotion? Wait in the car, I'll check" He said and got off the car to check what was going on. I saw him go further into the crowd that's when I realized there weren't just people there, there were police as well. I saw him coming out of the crowd and he looked shocked. Without wasting anymore time, I got off the car and walked toward him.

"Team leader, what's there-" Before I could say anything, grabbing me by my arm, he pulled me towards him. I bumped into his chest which made my eyes widen slightly. I looked up at him and he looked at me with a scared expression

"Team leader-"

"Don't look there" He said with a trembling voice

"What's wrong-" he cut me off by cupping my cheeks lightly making me look at him

"I said, don't look there. Look at me... but don't look there, please"
