[Time skip: Hospital]
I slowly opened my eyes trying to adjust to the bright white light around me. 'Wait... am I in heaven?' I thought but I was proven wrong when I heard the beeping of a monitor and realized that I was in a hospital. I slightly moved my head but groaned when I felt a sting of pain through my head.
"Hyung! She is awake!" I heard someone say and it sounded like Mark's voice
"Get the doctors!" This time it was brother Taeyong's voice. I opened my eyes completely and saw Mark rushing out of the room while Taeyong took a seat next to me and gently caressed my hairs
"Y/n... how are you feeling?" He asked softly
"My... head... hurts a... bit" I managed to speak
"Of course, it will! You had a whole hammer thrown at the back of your head! Do you know how worried we were?!" Mark's voice echoed through the room as he entered the room with a few doctors. The doctors checked my vitals and asked the nurse to bring something for me to eat
"Her vitals seem normal, she'll be fine" The doctor as brother Taeyong and Mark let out a sigh of relief
"Thank god you weren't hit at the medulla or you could've died on spot. Even though you lost a lot of blood, we could save you because of the immediate measures taken by the one who saved you. I'll have the nurse send you some food" The doctor smiled before taking his leave. Someone saved me? Right, I clearly remember my name being called before I lost consciousness but who was it?
"Give him a call" Brother Taeyong told Mark making him nod as he excused himself
"Give whom... a call?" I questioned
"Team leader Jeong"
"Why... him?"
"Because the one who saved you... was him" He said
"He... saved.... me?" I questioned making him nod
[Flashback: That Night]
Jaehyun's POV:
"Y/n!" I yelled when I saw her lie down on the road and close to loosing her consciousness. The man who had thrown the hammer at her, started running in the opposite direction the moment he saw me. I ran to Y/n who was now lying lifelessly. Picking her up, I kept tapping her cheeks hoping she'd wake up. The back of her head was bleeding heavily
"What do I do... Y/n-n.. wake up-p... no no... don't loose-e consciousness-s... Y/n"
At that moment, I had two options. Stay with Y/n or go after the man. As much as I wanted to catch that man, leaving Y/n like that would've made me regret my decision even more and I couldn't afford to loose her. Tears started welling up in my eyes.
"HELP! SOMEONE HELP! PLEASE-E! HELP-P" I yelled. I looked around not knowing what to do. My hands reached to my phone as I dialed the ambulance's number asking them to send someone over immediately
"HELP-P! PLEASE-E... SOMEONE HEL-P"
"What's going on here?" I heard someone say and when I turned around there were two police men who were previously on patrol
"Help me! She is-s unconscious and... and-d... she lost-t a lot... of blood" I said
"Young man calm down, who did this?" The police men asked
"The man ran in the opposite direction-n... I think there-e... is another-r victim... in that alley-y"
"Officer go after him, I'll request for backup and medical assistance"
"Y/n-n.... jus-t hang in the-re.... you ar-e going to be fine-e.... I... promise-e"
End of POV
End of flashback
"....you were unconscious for three days straight and... he didn't leave your side for once. He was called from the office today for some urgent matter and he had to leave" Brother Taeyong said and I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Team leader saved me...? But didn't he already leave after dropping me? My thoughts were interrupted when Mark entered the room
"Mark.."
"He is on his way" Mark said taking a seat next to me
"Why would you go to somewhere if you know that something is wrong!?" Mark said
"If I hadn't gone there, Yura would've.... right! How is Yura?! Where is she?!" I asked
"She is in coma. She would've died if you hadn't gone there and distracted the murderer but they don't know yet when she will wake up" Taeyong said
"That's a relief" I said
"A relief?! You almost died! You unknowingly saved someone for which I am proud of you but not like this... not with you risking your life to save someone. After you hadn't woken up for three days straight and every-time I came to visit you and saw you lying lifelessly just like that... it had hurt... a lot... I thought we had lost you" Mark said engulfing me in a warm hug and brother Taeyong joined as well
"Y/n.... don't ever put your life before anything else.... you might not know this but you being alive... is the reason why many people smile" Brother Taeyong said making me nod
"Thank you both.... for not loosing hope in me" I said with a smile
Minutes passed, Brother Taeyong was helping me eat an apple while Mark was talking about some random stuffs when the door flung open revealing a very.... exhausted team leader?
"Team leader" Before I could say anything, he came toward me and wrapped his arms around me. My head bumped on his chest as he gently caressed my hairs
"Thank god you've woken up... I was worried.... Ms. Y/n" He said
"Team leader.... I am okay... was the man caught?" I asked
"Ms. Y/n, why would you go in a place like that?! Didn't you see the red flags you got before going there? What did I teach you all these years about red flags?" He asked and it took me a few seconds to remember the answer
"Whenever there is a red flag.... above getting involved it" I said
"See! You still remember it then why did you go there?! I can get you fired for this!" He said
"Team leader! You can't do that!" I said looking at him
"I can and I will if you do this again next time.... didn't I tell you to get inside? Why did you still go out then?" He said hugging me once again but this time it was different, with warm hands he made my head lie on chest. My heart beat fastened and I could hear his
"But team leader.... didn't you leave after dropping me? Then how did you ended up saving me when you had already left?" I asked
"That's because I never left... I always waited for you to get inside your house safely...."
