My name? Dong Sicheng.

I found my love for animals at the age of 6, when I went to a farm for the first time. Animals had fascinated me from that day. Their histories of migration, their anatomies, and how they live so uniquely. I find them comforting, and could spend hours a day with them. They can't judge you like humans do. They can't bully you or isolate you. Once you gain their trust, they will love you. Well, some of them at least. But I still love the others just the same.

I found my love for photography at the age of 15, when my grandmother passed away. I found her camera in one of her drawers when I was helping clear out her home. I kept that camera with me, and began taking photos with it. It was a small, simple DSLR, but I cherished it with my whole heart.

I then studied photography for my GCSEs, finding out that I can combine my love for photography with my fascination of animals, and that soon became my source of happiness, and a type of therapy. Photography is a beautiful way to capture those you love and cherish. It is way to keep memories forever, without being afraid of missing a certain detail. Photography is such a beautiful thing on Earth, and life wouldn't be the same without it.

I never had memories to capture. I grew up without any friends. Without anyone to lean on or laugh with. I never went to parties, or sleepovers. I didn't text anybody. I had an underwhelming 20 followers on my Instagram page, those followers being family members or my photography classmates, who only followed each other because our teacher, Mr.O'Leary, encouraged us to do so. I found no use in actually having a phone.

Ever since I was 10, I would look outside at the night sky, and wished for the universe to bring me a friend. Someone who I could go to during my hardest moments, and someone who I could just have fun with, and catch up on everything I missed as a child.

But, every day, I woke up and nothing would change.

Until one fateful day.

But I ruined it in a single minute...
