Ten

Science class. I only really focused in that class if we were learning about diseases or anatomies, as that was all I understood. Everything else just flew over my head. 

It was a self studies class, as exams were coming up the next month. So, everyone was allowed to work on what they wanted to, as long as it was relevant to what we learnt in the past. 

I was sat next to Minghao, who was studying states of matter. I looked over at him, and remembered that I wanted to ask him about my feelings towards Y/N. I didn't know how to ask, without it possibly sounding weird, so I took out a piece of paper and passed it to him.

'Can I ask you something?'

It took Minghao a second to notice it, but nodded. A smile wasn't on his face.

Did he dislike me?

'How do you feel about Y/N?'

He read the note, and I saw his eyebrows scrunch together before relaxing. A smile creeped onto his face. He turned to me and began to talk. 

He was speaking quickly, so I couldn't work out what he was actually saying, but from the sparkle in his eyes, the way he would stop talking and just smile before continuing, and how he fidgeted a lot, I could understand that he really treasured Y/N, and that she is possibly like a best friend to Minghao.

I could feel myself smiling as I then started to think about how Y/N has made me feel. I would also fidget around her, and I would smile when she smiled. I also wanted to spend time with her and get to know her better. I wanted her to be closer to me than how she is with Minghao.

I then took out another note.

'How do you know if you like someone romantically, and not platonically?'

This time, I tried to focus on every word that he said.

'Platonically loving someone is, feeling gratitude for having them in your life, and being interested in what they like.'

'Romantic love is, wanting to be around that person, loving every aspect of them and never wanting to let them go. You feel like you can tell them anything and they would never judge you. You have negative feelings if they seem to be interested in someone else.'

I nodded, and I turned back to my work.

I did want to be around Y/N, I felt happy when I saw her smile. Maybe when I saw Y/N with Minghao, it wasn't because they're friends, but because she was close to another guy. They would talk a lot, aswell. And I saw myself wanting to be there in Minghao's place.

Maybe I should tell her.
