TONIGHT. HUNT YOU DOWN,

"Huh, you okay?"

(Y/N) didn't answer.

Shocks rattled throughout her body, banging against each bone as a wake-up call. Not an ounce of hesitation remained in her heart. Hesitation sang songs of death, and she couldn't risk any more run-ins if she wanted to go home.

Home?

The time to think has long since passed. She freed her mind from any lingering questions with a simple push off the ground like a track runner.

Most humans can't outrun animals. Almost every species has us beat in that category of raw strength. (Y/N), in her 20 years of living, never built up the courage to fight against this fact. Instead, she let her flight response be the determiner of her safety. Trust was foreign; she couldn't believe in herself enough to allow critical analysis, which is the only thing humans had animals beat at.

If she had used her critical thinking skills, she would've realized that sprinting away was the worst decision to make in front of him.

As soon as she had been knocked to the ground, a key piece of information about her dorm building seeped into her memory. To the right of it had been another water fountain that served as a sitting place for students to converse or study. It spurred harshly and if you walked too close to it, you'd feel the droplets on your skin combined with an overbearing gurgle you couldn't ignore. If she followed wherever she heard running water, she'd find it in no time.
