When (Y/N) put the malachite down, her eyes widened at who it was.

And their eyes widened back in realization that they had been caught.

Since the malachite identifies species, (Y/N)'s experiment of testing it in the mirror proved that the varying colors don't include humans. No colorful thermal energy wrapped around her silhouette in the mirror, leaving her a blank, black-and-white slate. So, who she currently stared down was...

The only other human in town.

"Nami!"

(Y/N) didn't have much time to navigate the desks and chairs in the classroom, watching as Nami swiftly left the doors and trekked down the hallways. She zoomed out of the classroom doors and tripped over the air, slamming into the wall across from the door due to how quickly she exited the room. Her eyes scanned Nami's retreating body that sped-walked down the oddly long hallway and didn't bother to stop.

"Nami, wait! Hold on, I—we need to talk!"

(Y/N) began sprinting at full speed, not caring for the odd looks each oddly pale student gave her when they were simply waiting around for their next class. She skidded around a corner Nami took, catching up to her fairly quickly since she used to run track and field.

Finally, (Y/N) reached Nami, tackling her in a hug and triggering them to tumble on the school's marbled floors. They spun before they came to a stop, hair messy and tangled. Nami no longer attempted to run from her embrace, welcoming her arms with a deep frown on her face. Nobody could see it, though, since her face had been covered with both her hands.

"Why didn't you tell me?!" she yelled, embracing Nami tighter.

She remained silent with her head down, not daring to look in (Y/N)'s direction for fear the waterworks might fall. No students dared to tread down this hallway for some odd reason, leaving the two girls alone and vulnerable to anything they may say to one another.

"I..."

She was silent, unable to form a coherent sentence without breaking down.
