(Liviah - Stories of Lothoa Pt 2)
(Off branch)We reached the Cave and demouhted.
I found a comfortable spot around a small lit fire and warmed myself. We where in the mountains and my body was cold.
The man looked at me.
"Let me take a look..?"
He said.
"A look?"
I said. I realized he was talking about my hand placed over my stomach, I hadn't realized I had been holding it tightly, nor did I notice h0w much of a bother it was.
"You where hit in the Liver with a arrow? It already seems partly healed? You can use mana? ....you're not a ordinary witch if you are one. Witches don't use Mana nor can they channel it. They steal the life from things and nature to cast spells, unlike Mages, mages use a energy called Mana which is present in most things and life, the life force that bares life to this land, Mages use their own Mana to create magic while Witches steal energy from things to cast spells, spells are the manipulation of magic while magic is the raw form created from mana into a element which can mimic spells or become whatever the mage wishes. Witches since they don't use their own magic and need to manipulate energy to cast spells tend to need to resort to unruly methods to continue to cast spells when there is no Mana present to maniuaplator. Their are rules called rituals and sacrifices, a witch can trade a life and use its existing mana of a dead thing to cast greater spells, these witches are called necromancers. This is however a twisting of the natural rules of mana and goes into the dark arts. When witches do this this disturbs natural order of Mana in the world and causes disease and other things to take place. A village can become cursed when the Mana in that town is corrupted and bad phenomena can take place where the balance of energy have been wrongly manipulated. Only a Divine Knight or any of the Holy arts can restore Mana back to it natural energy state within a town or region or area.
People typically know what witches and monsters are capable of and most towns and villages hate witches and mostly anyone who uses or distorts mana for their advantage, however this does not apply to Divine Knights. Mages in a way take after Divine Knights but Mages are in a way, use Mana for their own advantages, good or bad. And their is a fine line between a normal Mage and a Dark mage.
Monsters, in Liviah, twitches goblins golems and other creatures, seen and or unknown are more made of Mana and have more Mana then humans, although some monsters are completely ignorant of this and therefore can't use Mana, despite this some creatures even have elemental resistance despite rather it is ignore or not, this is determine by the Mana elements which a monster or creature either develops by their environment or is passed down through birth from another creature. Since some monsters in regions pass down this from generation to generation, their regions known to encounter certain elements. Take the Dark Lands for a example. Nobody but Divine Knights travel that region to do War against very intelligent monsters and beings that once threanted Liviah in the old great wars but that was resolve hundreds of years again and there is no longer Dark Lords anymore for the Divine Knights wiped their existence along with Mariah in the great 2nd war"
The man explained.
"For you, it looks like somehow, your mana regenerates life over time. That's a rare function for a witch. You must be a new breed"
The man said as he removed my hand and looked at my wound. It was swelling and big.
"By the looks? You must be short on Mana? You're in luck, I have what warriors and mages call a Mana droplet. It is sweet like candy upon taste, I would not advise anymore ignorant of how mana works to take one, as it tends to have negative effects."
The man handed me one and I looked at him.
"Go ahead. It's okay"
He said as he looked at me. I then took it and then collapsed onto him. I don't know if I broke out in tears or if I fainted. But when I came too I was laying in a blanket close to a fire. I looked around and the man was a bit far, sleeping away from the fire. I was weak and numb and when I felt my stomach there was no more pain.
"I'm healed...?"
I said to myself. My eyes watered again and I wiped tears. It bothered me. I couldn't figure out why this human would be so nice. I never done anything good, and all humans hated me... but... what was this feeling I was having... is it possible? For a monster to like a human? Where these feelings even?
I couldn't make since of the pain and sadness and confusion going on but I was too tired to think. I began to close my eyes again. And before I knew it, I was sound asleep.
