I was sound sleep when I began to wake up smelling what smelt like a warm cooked meal. I rose up opening my eyes slowly, and I was snugged in the covers and slept soundly. I looked over and there he was cooking, what was he doing? Does he get up early to cook? Then he turned and saw me, his face was like a innocent smile, he had this glimmer in his eyes, what was this sadness? Nobody has ever looked at me like this? All I knew was the death stares and frowns..... humans gave me.... but his eyes where different... no.... this... why.... why are you being so nice to... you're suppose to hate me.....!..... but his smile melted my suspension.

"Ah.. you're awake. I bet you're starving. How did you sleep?"

The man asked.

I took a min to think, I never worried about if I slept good or not before and it I did, he had been a long time.

"Um.... good..."

I realize this was the first night I slept without fear and worry, but why? ....does that mean? I trust this human?

I got up and my body walked towards him. It was as if he had signaled me over.

"I wasn't quite sure what you liked but it's still good."

The man said.

I wanted to scream at the man. But before I could say anything about my suspension, the man read my face.

"You're probably wondering why I'm helping you? Is it really tnat strange..?"

I don't know why but at that moment all the strength drained from me, I burst into tears and fell into the man's arms. And he held me. I cried out my loudest as if I had nothing to lose or nothing to hold back.

"....it's okay..!...."

The man said.. I couldn't remember it fully I was so in tears I didn't feel the man if he'd rubbed my back and he held me firm.

"Hey pull yourself together.. will you.."

The man said. The man seemed totally different from yesterday, it seemed nicer, but different or not I let out everything I had. I squeezed his back til I was drained of tears.

"Hey. Listen. I'm going go get something so you can wipe your face. And when I come back. I hope you are done... you know, crying. I be right back. And well. Just wait here and please eat."

The man said. He then slowly let me go and went on his way. All I could think was what was wrong with me.

This man.... how could I be so vulnerable..? I never trusted a single human before? Right? .....but he did save my life..

"Here.. now wipe your tears and snot"

He said handing me a
handkerchief

"R...return it to me when it's washed and free of snot and boogers..."

He said frankly with a slight wide eyed gawk. I cleaned my face up and after we ate together.

"So? How is it? Not baaad huh? See I toold you..!"

The man said.

I ate quietly and my heart still had questions. I had to ask him.. had to be sure. Maybe it wouldn't come out to be rude.

"Why.... Sir.... back there. You could've let me die..... and not only that, I'm monster.."

I said.

"Are you really? A monster? If so? You would've tried to kill me already right?"

The man said.

"All while I was sleep you had the chance at any moment if you truly wanted too. Yet it didn't even cross your mind too? You seem pretty human to me if I was being honest"

The man said.

I looked at him..

"Th...that still doesn't answer why..."

I said.

The man looked at me.

"Why I did it...? I don't know.."

The man said.

I looked at him and got close.

"You? You don't know?? What do you mean??"

I said.

The man's face got wide.

"I mean... I don't know. I never did like Oben's people and well, I saw a opportunity, those people are in a bad way and treated me wrong and stole from me once. I never got a chance to repay em. Then I noticed you, I wasn't really thinking at the moment rather if I wanted to save you or fight them. But once I took a good look at you and what they where doing, I felt angry. So I stopped them.."

I looked at him with wide eyes..

"Y....you saved me...."

I said softly.

"Eh.....yea....well... call me Leo..."

The man said and looked at me.

"Um. You're staring at me you know that?"

The man said. Then I blinked.

"Leo?...."

I repeated.

"Yes, do you have a name?"

The man asked me.

"Eh... yes actually... I go by the name Lothoa...."

I said. This man was the first man to actually treat me huamn... like... equal.

"Lothoa, huh?"

The man said.

"Well then, I don't know about you but it's still early. I'm get some more rest and we can set foot for travel soon. There's some drinks still in my bag if you get thirsty, just don't eat up my snacks, but you're welcome to it"

The man said and like that he made himself comfortable and within a few mins, sound sleep.

I couldn't believe it.... how was it so trusting!? I'm witch!? This guy.. Leo, either was being careless, hiding something.... or does he trust me? What does it mean...? He saved me but... now what!?...

I stopped thinking about it and took a drink and sat by the fire.

I had to know more about Leo, yes... when it wakes up I ask him a bunch of questions. Then I know everything.... then I can determine.....? Determine what? ...why do I care... suddenly?.... what's going on with me?......
