{First Person POV}

I and the other contestants sat in a half-circle in a small dojo space as we all directed our attention to Chen as he revealed the bracket board. I quickly found myself and saw who I was up against. The master of light...

"Behold! A jade blade..." Master Chen said with mystery. Clouse revealed a green blade with an intricate design. "Here, it represents life. Obtain it, move on. Allow your opponent to take it, loser! The rules are simple. Every match will be different," he said as he walked before our half-circle. "No two fights will be the same. Your powers will keep you in the tournament. Use it or lose it!"

"What does that mean. Use it or lose it?" I wondered to myself as I furrowed my brow.

The master of metal is the first to speak up to the man with the snake. "What does Karlof win?" he asked in an accusatory tone.

"Win and stay on the island. Win it all and you'll receive fortunes beyond your wildest dreams! And! Lifetime supply of Master Chen Noodles!" He danced as he revealed the prizes. "But no one is here because of noodles! You want the glory of being the greatest fighter in all of Ninjago!"

People around me cheered and I clapped along, but still kept my guard up.

"And what happens if they lose?" The old sensei asked. A wise question in my opinion. One that would surely be avoided.

"Lose? Who here likes to lose?" Chen answered earning laughs from the crowd.

After his theatrics, Kabuki girls led us to our rooms designed specifically for us. I kept quiet as I was led up a long winding staircase. My room was on the 3rd floor. It was colored in light purples and blues, similar to the hues my powers produced when used. A large light fixture hung from the ceiling creating a cool effect on the floor and walls as it reflected light. Inside my bathroom was a large hot tub complete with water jets and Epsom salts on the counter. Looking across the room, I noticed a family portrait hung by the door. I was officially creeped out by this revelation. I had a TV that had Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+ streaming services available to me for free. A new uniform was laid onto my bed, one of purple and blue hues to match the rest of my room. I heard cheering in the room down below me from the open sliding doors, and I went to investigate after changing. I had to admit, the color did suit me, and it fit like a glove.

I walked outside and looked down and saw the Earth Ninja from before on his balcony eating noodles and cake, an interesting combination. He must have felt me staring because he looked up. He slurped a noodle and smiled at me.

"Hey, you want some? I've got an unlimited supply of food in here from Chen's Noodle House," he offered.

I couldn't help but slightly smile at his antics, although my mask was up as it often is so he couldn't see it. I simply shook my head no and began to walk back into my room. Before I could get too far I heard a plastic bowl skid across my deck. I looked behind me and saw a bowl of noodles before my feet.

"Thank you... Cole," I finally said and then continued back inside after grabbing my noodles.

"How do you know my name?" I heard him ask before shutting the doors. I left his question unanswered.

After a short amount of time to ourselves, Master Chen announced over a PA system.

"Fellow Fighters! Hidden around my island are enough jade blades for every participant except for one! The one who returns to the palace arena empty-handed loses! The tournament begins... NOW!" His voice echoed.
