3 weeks later.....
The past 3 weeks where the last ones that I was working as a detective. I let agent Nelson know about my pregnancy and he was very supportive. So the three of us had accepted the job offer and we where just finishing unpacking everything from the boxes into my new apartment in New York. "Wow hold on baby mama isn't supposed to carry heavy items" Stefan said. "Im pregnant not ill" I said making us laugh.I told everyone I was pregnant a week ago and they where all excited to have a new member of the family. Everyone was very supportive. I was still sad about everything that Aaron did to me but this baby gave strength and I was trying to do better for he or she.
"So this is going to be the little bean's room?" Stefan asked "Yep once we know the gender I want to paint it" I said "About that when are you going to find out?" Santi asked "In about 4 or 6 weeks" I said walking to the kitchen "Can we do a gender reveal, please?" Sofia and Erika asked. "Yes just something not to dramatic please" I said eating my caramel ice cream. ____________________________________
The next day we where going to meet some of the other team members. I styled my curly hair and applied natural makeup. One of my least favorite things of this new job is how professional I had to dress. I wore black stretchy slacks and a blue and white stripped button down with black stilettos. Once we got there they showed us the office and said we each had a personal office. Then it was time for us to meet two of the new team members that also had just arrived.
"Agents these are agents Nathan Scott and Lucas Scott" Nelson said introducing the brunette and blonde men. I was the first to speak "You guys are related?" I asked "Yes actually we are brothers, and you are?" The brunette one whose name was Nathan said offering his hand "Im SSA Stephanie Ruiz" I said taking his hand. "I am SSA Stefan Ruiz and I am SSA Santiago Torres" they said making Nathan stop staring at me. "Also related?" Nathan said looking back at me and I nodded "Actually twins" Stefan said."Nice well its going to be nice to work with you guys" Lucas said standing on the side of his brother. "Same here" we said in union.
That same day I was finishing setting up my desk when there was a knock at my door. "Hi I hope I'm not interrupting" Nathan said "No please come in" I said gesturing for him to sit. "So I heard you are also new to the city and I was wondering if you wanted to go for drinks tonight?" He said in a flirty tone. "Ah yeah I can't" I said "Just one please" He said. "I cant because I'm pregnant" I said awkward smiling at him.
He was shocked "Oh Im sorry I didn't know you where in a relationship" he said "I'm not, I'm a single mom" I said starting to get annoyed. "Really me too, we'll not a single mom but a single parent" he said nervous "Really how old is your kid?" I asked "He is about to turn one next month how about you how far along are you?" He said "I just finished my first trimester" I said leaning back in my chair pulling out a bag of tamarind candy "Wow well you look incredible" he said.
"Thanks so what is your baby boy's name?" I asked as I offered him a candy "His name is James but we call him Jamie" he said taking some candy "That's a good name" I said "Have you thought of names?" He asked "Not yet until I find out the gender" I said. "Any guesses on the gender?" He asked "I have a feeling its a girl but I don't really know" I said smiling"Yeah when my ex wife was pregnant with Jamie I insisted it was going to be a girl, I guess I was wrong" he said making both of us laugh. "Yeah well as long as its healthy I am happy with whatever it is" I said. "Yeah thats whats important..... But since you can't go out for drinks would you let me invite you to dinner to get to know each other?" He asked and I though about it "As friends, in fact why don't we start our own club the single parents club?" He asked making me laugh "Okay okay I think dinner sounds like a fun time" I said as I grabbed my stuff and headed outside my office with him.
