I can hear the thunders clapping on heaven and it seems oddly unstoppable. The highway's gone slippery and the visibility is almost zero... "Mom! Stop the car!" I shouted at my fullest but it looks like she didn't hear me.
I gazed on my dad, sitting on the passenger's seat nearly lifeless, or already, for stabs are all over his stomach and neck- "Mom!?! I shouted again and the engine went crazy as my mom did. "Stop it!" I grasped her hand and the maneuver becomes unsteady "Where are we going?!" we just passed our supposed destination, the hospital.
"We're going to bury him" she gave me a teary eye that quickly fades "Hahaha~!! Where Cemetery do you like my dear? To the house of your mistress?!" she gazed on my dad that groans for a single breath. "Your grave will be there."
"Mom! He doesn't have a mistress ---" I rigidly stop with my tone unsort. I do know that he's seeing someone else, since last month, since the confrontation. But I can't blame him. "You're the first one who turned unfaithful! And now you're angry?!"
"Shut up Agnes!" Her tears fell down fast, more than grieving. "You don't know what happened" she tightens herself and blows our speed towards the post.
Rain poured it's wildest. I can hear the tire's friction and splashes of water screeching.
"Moooooom!!!" My voice box explodes. Fears suddenly sink into my bones quickly, making my whole system to strain frigidly. It all went blank. My mouth and tongue dried, I can't make any sounds. No noise, but a dead hum resounding in an undepictable location as big droplets land on my every skin sympathetically.
"Agnes..." someone called my name softly and pulled me back from my deep thinking. That's the only time that I realized two gray tombs with two stands of velvet condolences' rest before me. My parents are gone.
"Agnes, time to go." I gazed on my side and saw Gabriel, the only person that I can lean on and I got now. At the distant, I notice a family in mourn at the woman's burial. Named "Dr. Olivia Hunt Ph.D. MD"
My parents are dead. That accident took their lives. Lucky I am, I only got bruises and a light sprain on my right wrist. I am not in remorse nor in grieve. Maybe, I prayed this to happen and I somehow wish to be alone. I don't feel anything-I don't know why. Even a single cry, I didn't.
I put my dark shades on and exhaled "I have nowhere to go."
"You'll stay at our house." Gabriel uttered. "I already told this to Craig." his dad. "And guess what?" he pause then smiled "Lizzy and Darrylle agreed."
"Good" I monotonously said "And what about Odette?"
"My mom? She's just one against us." he pressed a laugh. He started to walk but before he makes a step he mummed to himself "Just like what i planned" he silently grinned.
"What?" I asked him.
"Oh, nothing."
We take a ride on a bus for thirty minutes going to Gabriel's house. Our families are close to each other since I could remember. They all know about me, even my parent's issues. That's how close they're to us. But his family is the total opposite of ours, they are perfect. A medium size house in the middle of the wide field welcomes me coldly. Its design is in lined with American country house, sullen and silent. This is their rest house during summer vacation.
A small fading bulb was force to light up in the door entrance and a man in a loose polo barked. He got a rounded head and a big belly. His eyebrows are slightly thick, his nose is wide but it peeked while his stare is immovable--summing up and suiting in his hardly readable expression and aura. Craig opened the door for us "Agnes, Come in. I know you're tired" he gets my things. "The food is ready."
