Poseidon tried not to show emotion when Percy came to him, crying. Sally Jackson had died, she had been killed in a car accident. Percy was sitting by Poseidon in the throne room in Olympus, crying and muttering about loyalty and being a failure. Poseidon squeezed his eyes shut and tried not to let the hurt in, but it came anyway. "Son, this wasn't your fault. You couldn't have prevented it, it was fate." Poseidon patted Percy on his shoulder, trying to comfort him. "I-I should've b-been there, if only I was quicker." Percy stuttered, his breathing uneven from crying so much. Poseidon shook his head, "No Percy, you weren't meant to be there, it was her time." Poseidon didn't see how his voice could be so calm when the hurricane of hurt and sadness whirled inside him, "It's time for you to go home son. People need you." Percy nodded and started walking towards the elevator. Poseidon waited till Percy was gone before letting the first tear slip, Sally had been the one person h e could never fall out of love with. She hadn't been like the other women, she had understood and hadn't questioned him. She had genuinely loved him for who he was, and now she was gone, and he hadn't even been able to say goodbye. Poseidon buried his head in his hands, a feeble attempt to stop the tears. "Brother? What's happened?" Poseidon lifted his head when he heard Zeus's voice, "It's nothing of importance." Poseidon sighed, he couldn't let Zeus see how this had hurt him. "Sally Jackson was an extraordinary woman, she was much smarter then a lot of other mortals, I can see how her death might have affected you." Zeus patted Poseidon's shoulder, offering some comfort. "Thank you for understanding brother, I didn't think you would." Poseidon stood and looked Zeus in the eye, "I must go." Zues narrowed his eyes, "I may understand your pain, but don't be getting any ideas. Your not allowed to raise her from the dead or make her immortal." Poseidon laughed, "I would never do something like that." Zeus shook his head and chuckled and with a quick wave, he disappeared.
Standing at the foot of Sally Jackson's grave Poseidon looked around to make sure no one was around, then he concentrated on Sally. A few minutes later, he sensed the ocean was a bit fuller than it had been before. Sally had joined his domain, in the form of water.

I was thinking about how Poseidon would want Sally with him always so this seemed like a good alternative to just being dead. Read on my friends, @Emmah519
