Annabeth blinked back her tears and turned to face her small class of demigod first graders. A little boy raised his hand eagerly, "Miss Annabeth? Why are you crying?" He asked, very puzzled. Annabeth sniffled and replied, "My husband died and his funeral was just yesterday." The little bit tilted his head to one side, "Did you cry at the funeral?" Annabeth sighed, "Yes Carter, of course I did." Carter once again looked very puzzled and asked, "Why? A funeral is a celebration of life, not a memorial of death. Your husband doesn't want you to grieve he wants you to celebrate the memories you had together." And with that the little boy walked back to his seat, Annabeth was certain he was a son of Athena.
😔😔😔 I just went to a funeral so I had a lot of thoughts running through my head about this. 😢
