chapter 2: The CEO

10 years in present day....

10 years have passed since the death of Jason older brother.. a night that he can never forget.. But today he is a CEO of the the most famous diamond company called Silverstone. They are more known for makinh the most beautiful and delicate diamonds in the world. Diamonds that are worth billions. Jason is a successful CEO of a bunch of diamond stores all over China. He's a very wealthy man and have many women falling for him But he never seemed to be interested and his best friend Dino know exactly why. Dino is a Hispanic man who was raised in China. He grew up with Jason and his brother. Dino never really forgot his roots. This is one of the reasons why Jason loves hanging around with him. Everyone thought Jason was the most handsome man in China but he was never interested in getting married with a woman. Dino knew that Jason is into men.. but never really made love to one since Jason is legally blind. Due to the accident he had 10 years ago. Jason could only sense and smell a male presence that made him feel comfortable and happy....

Back at Silverstone Jason's family was waiting for him. They are very concerned the fact that they think he cannot run this big business because he's blind. His cousin June is dying to take his place. But Jason is not going to allow that. Because his mother built this company from ground up and he was not going to give it up to some family member who the only thing he cares about is winning the money and the fame. Jason had to find a way to keep the company under his belt but he doesn't know how to do that at the moment. Today this family meeting is to decide if he should step down and let June take his place..

Dino always helps Jason around. He is like his guide most of the time. But if nothing is put out a place Jason could get around by himself pretty well. But everything has to be put in place just like he likes it. As soon as Dino helps Jason walk in to the conference room. Dino whispers into Jason's ear and says.

Dino. Ay! The ogres are here...

Jason smiled and slightly giggled at Dino's comment.

Jason: well I can hear everyone's here!
What is it you guys needed to talk to me about?!

Auntie: just sit down Jason there's something serious we need to discuss.

Dino slowly guides Jason to a chair he doesn't do much he just simply makes noise with the chair so Jason knows exactly where to go. Jason safely sits down on the chair puts his hands on on the table and starts tapping his fingers. Dino knew that this was a sign of him being annoyed.

Jason: well I'm listening!!

Auntie: I am going to be 100% honest with you my beautiful nephew.. I don't think you not capable to run this business anymore.

Jason: ha and I'm assuming your son is?!

Dino: haa ay!

Dino's funny noises and expressions always made Jason smile.

June: look you can't even see the screen what are you doing paperwork are you even sure you're sending the right paperwork are you sure you're doing the right job for this company.

Jason: so I'm assuming you never heard of Braille right June?!

June: what?!

Dino: Braille is what people like Jason use to read and sent messages and emails makes it a lot easier for him. Any excuse that you have it's not going to work here Jason is more capable than anyone else to run this company. And the audacity you guys have to come here and tell him he's not capable to run this company Then you don't really know who he is.. ándale dime! ( Come on tell me) other than his blindness what is a real reason you want to run this business yourself June?!

Auntie: Dino i don't think you should be here this a family matter!

Jason: Auntie i think you forgot he is also family!! Look!! the company is doing grate under my care. This company had become very famous because of me... Now the only way I'll step down if my own mother tells me to do so..

Jason turns his head to his mother's direction he knew where she was sitting by the smell of her sweet perfume.. he smiles and says..

Jason: mother what is it that you want to do.. do you want me to step down?

Mother: no my beautiful son... But I do worry about you. I feel like you put your whole entire life in this company that I fear you won't ever fined a happy ending..

Jason: mom I'm perfectly fine..

Mother: I want you to get married one day and to have a family and to be happy you are all about this company do you really think that is better for to be alone for the rest of your life..

Jason: mother I told you many times before no one's going to love a blind man and I'm completely fine dying alone..

Mother: Jason!

Dino: Jason mama.. I seen how hard-working Jason is and how being blind doesn't affect that. He gone Way beyond anyone I know. This business is blooming because of him if this business ever had issues and it wasn't blooming the way it is now or we're in your bankrupt or something then I will tell him myself to step down. But he made this company bigger than you ever dreamed of am I right??

Jason: Dino! enough they're not going to listen to you!

Dino: déjame hablar! (Let me talk!) And I'm not talking to them I'm talking to her.. mama do you want him to find the family? you don't want him to be alone right?!

Jason's mom shook her head yes letting Dino know that his last move will be accepted..

Dino: how about this I know he might not like it but it might  ease your nerves a bit I have an idea...

June: we don't need your ideas in this family! he needs to sit down that's what he needs to do!!!

Mother: shhh!! I want to hear this idea! Go ahead let's hear your amazing idea!!

Dino: caretaker!!

Mother and Jason: huh!!

Dino: why don't we interview a live in caretakers?? Someone that lives with Jason and helps him in all his needs and there you'll be ensure that he'll be fine.. someone who can take care of him every single day. take him to work and back make sure he eats make sure he doesn't bump into anything which he rarely does.. Jason! before you say anything I know that you are going to be against this but this is the only way your parents are going to let you stay in that chair as the CEO of this company.. a caretaker will make your mother feel less worry about you. knowing that you'll be taking care of.. so mama what do you think? should we hire a caretaker for Jason??

Mother: that sounds like a great idea... So should we hire a caretaker for you Jason?!

Dino looks at Jason with a look that only Jason knew what he meant by it.. a kind of look like this is the only way out dude.. might as well just take it...

Jason shook his head in agreement and accepted the fact that he has to hire caretaker...

Jason: I guess lest higher a caretaker but under one condition let me pick them please mother..

Mother: well looks like we sort this out I will see you at home later Tonight For dinner.. As for  you June and your mother all this of my son stepping down it ends now! I don't want to hear one more word of it!!! Do I have myself clear!!

They both shook their head in agreement with such attitude and disbelief.. everyone leaves the room leaving Dino and Jason alone..

Jason: a caretaker seriously!!!

Dino: it's either that or stepping down!! Your choice! I can always call them back in here!!

Jason: uhh caretaker it is...
