Kimberly quietly opened her bedroom window, thankful that she had left it unlocked. She quickly threw her leg inside and crawled the rest of the way inside her room, stumbling slightly, before quickly closing it back.

She tossed her backpack onto her bed and flopped down face first alongside her prized possession, groaning.

"Long night?"

She gasped and shot off her bed, eyes wide. Her hand flung to her chest, and angrily whispered, "What the shit Dustin!" She tried to calm her heartbeat.

He laughed, "Sorry didn't mean to scare you, but that was funny. Where were you last night?"

"Not cool, dude not cool."

"You going to answer my question?"

"I was at a party, and then Steve needed my help so I just crashed at his place."

"Wait you actually went to a party? I thought you were kidding when you asked mom if you could go."

"No, I wasn't kidding... I thought it might be fun, or I don't know... Steve convinced me, so I went."

Dustin's eyebrow rose, "Steve convinced you?"

"Not like that! You know he's in love with Nancy and I would never do anything to get in between them! Steve and I have just sort of patched up our friendship so I'm trying to make an effort."

"Right. Well enough about your problems, I need your help."

"With what?"

"I found this animal last night-"

"Ah ah ah. Have you done the three rules?"

"Three rules?"

"The three rules mom gave us when I started bringing in animals from the forest that needed help?" Dustin just stared at her blankly, she sighed, "1: is it injured so much that it needs professional help? If yes then take it immediately to the vet (no if, ands, or buts about it), if no proceed to the next question."

Kimberly waited for him to give her a response.

"No, it's not injured at all. Kimmy I need-"

"2: what kind of food does it eat and do we have it available or do we need to run to the store? If yes then feed the poor baby, if no ask mom to take you to the store."

"It liked nougat?"

Kimberly's brows furrowed, but kept going, "3: what kind of animal is it, and will it potentially cause any harm to members of the household, Mews included, once it fully grows. If yes then as soon as it is healed and/or starts to show aggressive tendencies immediately relocate to its proper habitat. If no then you begin your petition to mom in order to keep it as another family pet, but warning: she is likely to say no if it is a dog or of the reptilian family, you know she hates snakes, lizards, and frogs, but obviously it's if another turtle there's a chance she'll say yes."

"And that's why I need your help, I don't know what it is."

Kimberly stopped, "Excuse me?"

"Ya, I have no idea what kind of animal it is."

"What? How do you not know what type of animal it is?"

"Well, it's still in its tadpole stage, at least I think it is."

"Oh well, why didn't you just say that? Here let me shower, and change and stuff and I'll come look at it ok?"
