Harry was having cravings- apparently using the Unforgivables made someone prone to intense food cravings- and right now he was about ready to murder someone if he didn't get some pizza. Hermione by now was physically well enough to go with him to fetch some late night (midnight) pizza as they had nothing else better to do.
As of now they were simply waiting for Cassie to finish brewing the potion and she had told them that it would not be ready until the wee hours of the morning. So when Harry had proposed (demanded) pizza for dinner, Hermione had jumped at the chance to go with him and get fresh air.
The little outing was honestly just what the pair needed to finish catching up. Hermione told Harry how her parents had agreed that it was best if she was put under Dumbledore's guardianship and how Mrs. Weasley had been dosing her, the twins, and Ron.
Harry in turn told her about the blood rite, Regulus willing him as Black heir, and everything else that had happened. He even told her about how he had seen through the bond that Voldemort was hot again and she had smacked him in the chest when he said that.
"Honestly, I don't know what those symbols mean on the ring that Regulus Black willed me. I can't think of anything!" He was telling her.
"After the rite we could visit the library and see if there are any books that could teach us about the symbols. I'm sure we can figure it out Harry." As always, Hermione's solution was to hit the library, but now it didn't irritate Harry. He found it comforting and he agreed with her- the answers could probably be found in the ancient tomes in the Black Castle Library. He nodded.
"You're right. Although with my luck the answers are probably in the book Aunt Cassie just lent to Voldemort." Hermione shot him a look.
"Your aunt loans out tomes to Voldemort? Harry, I thought you said they weren't Death Eaters?"
"She's about to be your aunt too you know." He snarked. "And I said they wouldn't sell me out to anyone, not that they were completely wholesome and light leaning people who would never occasionally help out or try to marry dark lords." Hermione rolled her eyes. They continued their walk down the street to the pizza place in companionable silence before Hermione put a hand on his arm and stopped him.
"Wait, what do you mean try to marry Dark Lords?" Harry laughed at the look on her face which was one of slight disgust and a bit of wariness.
"Oh! I found out at brunch the other day that my Aunt Cassie tried to have her father arrange a marriage between her and Grindlewald but then she learned he was gay so she swore she'd never marry anyone if she couldn't marry her crush." Hermione gave a 'hmm' and then laughed while shaking her head.
It was then that Harry thought he saw someone he knew. He squinted his eyes as he tried to get a better look in the dim lighting. He took in the high cheekbones and the squarish jaw as well as the messy mop of brown curls. Was that?...
Across the street Rabastan Lestrange locked eyes with him and the Death Eaters eyes widened.
"OH SHIT" Harry yelped. He grabbed Hermione's hand and ducked inside the hotel lobby that was next to them. He raced to the nearest bathroom and pulled Hermione behind him, the whole time she was screeching "Harry!"
When they were finally secured inside a bathroom he leaned up against the wall and heaved a few deep breaths. Hermione gulped in a few breaths before she marched over to him and whacked the side of his head.
"What the bloody fuck was that Harry James Potter?" He winced at her tone.
"Well the thing is, is that I sort of spotted Rabastan Lestrange outside and I didn't want him to catch us." She scoffed at his explanation, and he kept going. "Besides, it felt too soon to be tagged and so I-" he paused when he spotted the furious expression on his friend's face.
