11 - Final Chapter

Frank woke first the following morning. The two of them had eventually made their way to bed and simply cuddled all night. They both slept soundly; the familiarity of being wrapped up in each other's arms aiding their rest and ensuring a good night's sleep. It took him a moment to register that Gerard was here with him; limbs like tentacles holding him firmly in place. He breathed him in and sighed in contentment. He had wanted this feeling back for so long. And although he had initially fought it, his love for Gerard had won in the end, and he was finally able to forgive him and want to move on with their lives together. He felt like Gerard had saved him, literally, from the spiraling vacuum he'd been swallowed into. And he would always be grateful for that.

As his mind was reeling from the events of the previous night (hearing Gerard tell him over and over again how much he loved him, that he missed him and that he would never risk losing him again), he couldn't help the smile that spread across his face. He felt Gerard move slightly next to him and as he looked at him, he could tell he was also beginning to wake.

"Morning Frankie" he murmured with half open eyes as he placed a soft kiss in Frank's hair.

"Hey Gee!" Frank replied with a squeeze around Gerard's waist.

"Sleep well?"

"Better than ever" Frank replied with a smile.

"Good. Me too" Gerard yawned.

They lay quietly for a little while longer, but Frank was yearning for Gerard. He knew his boyfriend wouldn't be the one to initiate any intimacy, but he wanted it. He needed to get over this last hurdle and solidify their reunion. He needed that, yet he was nervous.

He slowly began to stroke his fingers up and down Gerard's arms, feeling goosebumps rise to the surface of his skin as he did, before gingerly placing soft, gentle kisses across his chest. Gerard shuddered and ran his fingers through Frank's hair that was draped across his upper body. Frank bravely licked across his nipple, confirming to Gerard exactly what he wanted. Gerard felt his cock twitch at the touch, and when Frank looked up at him, he couldn't help but grab a hold of his face and pull him into a heated kiss. Frank rolled off Gerard and onto his back. He ran his finger over it and then leaned down to tenderly kiss over it. Frank felt his eyes fill as he watched Gerard. This was always their symbol. They had sworn they would be together forever, and this intimate tattoo had been Frank's gesture to show Gerard that he really meant that. It hurt to think they hadn't succeeded with that, but as Gerard simply lay his head on Frank's thigh and looked up into his eyes, Frank knew he was feeling guilty about the fact. His eyes looked tormented as his thumb rubbed across the tiny ink emblem, and Frank's heart ached for him.
