''No Phones at the table Nina!'' My mother bellowed. I grabbed my glass of water and quickly downed it trying to recover my senses.
I knew I'd read right. The caption had said Trinidad bound, and unless there was another Trinidad that I hadn't known of, that meant the Queen was coming here. I could almost squeal!
No sooner had my excitement came did it leave as the realization hit that if Beyonce was coming here for a concert, chances are I would never be able to affford a ticket. Sigh.
With dinner completed, I left the table and went up to my room after doing my chores. I was feeling a bit down so I decided to lay in bed and go through Beys instagram account again.
After scrolling through the whole thing I gave up dejectedly. There was nothing I wished for more than to see my idol live. In the flesh. To hear her soothing voice. To feel her eyes roving the crowd, to come to a gentle stop on my face. To single me out. ''Come onto the stage" She'd say. Then I'd die right there as I sang along to our favorite song.
Who was I kidding this was real life this wasn't some movie.
I opened my instgram account, handled NinaKnowles, and decided to post a picture of me under the covers pouting. The caption read "My idol is coming to my little island and I can't even see her. Tough luck." I inserted two sad cat face emojis just for the heck of it and posted.
Time for bed, life went on, even though I felt like my life was going no where fast.
