Don't play the song yet ;)
After grinning for the entire ten minutes that the story had ran, I finally came back to the present.
"That deceiving heifer got exactly what she deserved, it'll be no surprise if someone saw her in these here streets and really broke her legs, giving my island a bad name, lying ass"
It felt strange hearing my brother refer to anybody as a heifer, I laughed out loud but I couldn't agree with him more.
This girl had ultimately embarrassed herself and the entire nation. Instagram probably thought we were a bunch of lying, scheming criminals.
I knew this was a stretch but I wouldn't put anything past them. I popped a single fry in my mouth and settled into my thoughts.
Before long we had finished eating and decided to leave, but not before Maya inserted her two cents on the whole situation.
I got home, took a quick shower and settled into bed. I had refrained from checking instagram at all since I got home but I couldn't put it off any longer.
As expected, there were a lot of negative backlash circulating. But in the midst of all the darkness, a brightness came in the form of a post 3 seconds ago that I had never expected.
In the event of this unforseen situation, the concert prize package shall now be given to the runner up @NinaKnowles. A representative will contact you via DM please respond within a reasonable time frame.
Naturally, I had suspected that the concert prize would most likely go to the person that was in first place all along, if anybody at all, so it came as a definite surprise when I read my name in the post. At this point I felt a humble calm, excitement rather than the screaming fan girl excitement that I had felt previously.
Of course I was extremely grateful, even more so as the congratulations text messages and Dms began to roll in. I had Also received a DM simply asking for my contact information pertaining to collection which I readily sent out.
Maya had called and screamed in my ear for almost three whole minutes, but I took everything with a cool happiness that even surprised myself.
Seeing that the concert was tomorrow, they had arranged for a vehicle to pick me and my companion (Maya) up tomorrow night at 7pm where we will be dropped off at the venue. The driver would also provide us with our VIP tickets, and backstage passes.
My insides fluttered as I began to forget the whole wheelchair fiasco and actually let myself get excited. I was going to meet Beyonce!
.......
The next day flew by in a blur, Maya took us out to town to buy two dresses and heels that she had seen on sale, she paid with the money she had tried to save to buy us tickets for the concert now that she didn't need too.
When we got home she styled my hair, did my nails, and my makeup while I did the same for her. By the time we were done, it was six thirty, the vehicle should be here any minute.
"Be careful Nina, call me when you get there, and when you leave, have fun. I'll be at work. Bye Maya. " My mother said from the doorway.
I responded with a warm thank you and proceeded yo shimy into my dress.
My outfit was complete (Its in the MM) and I was definitely feeling myself. Maya and I stood next to each other in the mirror, "Let's paint this concert red ;)"

.The concert had been amazing so far, the VIP treatment we had received had been exactly that, VIP.
We entered through a separate entrance everything. We had even been offered food and drink.
Currently, the Front, VIP section was packed, but not in a way that made it sweaty and uncomfortable but in a way that made it all the more fun. The intermission had about 5 minutes left before the concert resumed and I was already hoarse from screaming.
Seeing Beyonce up close was greater than I expected. There was a subtle familiarity I felt when I looked at her face that was prettier in person, but also an excitement like this was the first time (which it actually was)
I sang along to every song, even teared up on cue, genuine tears that translated into the bliss I felt. Maya was great company and many times we danced shamelessly together or sometimes with other concert-goers. It was the most enjoyable and memorable night I had ever had so far.
...
A couple songs later it was almost midnight when Beyonce sang her last song. Surprisingly, it was Dangerously in Love. (Play! ) She made it memorable in a sense that she often slipped "Trinidad" and "My fans" into the lyrics. I cried even harder.
When she was done, she bowed and made a quick announcement that the concert prize winner should make her way backstage and present her backstage passes for a short meet and greet.
It took me a minute to realize that that meant me. I vaguely heard a drunk Maya in the background yelling;
"Queen Bey will see you now baybayy!"
As excited as I was, I had no idea that this would be the beginning of a 99 more problems than I already had.
