A few days later, Keira was back in Mystic Falls with Nik and Rebekah. Nik had tasked Rebekah with convincing Alaric to hand over the last white stake, and it had taken a bit longer because he apparently had developed an evil alter ego.

Rebekah entered the living room as Keira and Nik were both reading. "What took you so long?" asked Nik.

"Alaric didn't want to hand over the stake," she said, before pulling it out. "Luckily, I'm quite the charmer."

"That's it?" said Keira.

"The last of the white oak stakes that can kill us. Either of you want to do the honors, or shall I?" said Rebekah. Nik took it from her and threw it in the fire without hesitation. "Well that's it then."

"Pack your bag, we're leaving," said Nik. Rebekah suddenly stared at him.

"Today?" she said.

"Why not? There's nothing keeping us here. We'll grab the doppelgänger and be off by sunset," Nik replied.

"But tonight is the decade dance!"

"So?"

"So, I'm head of the committee, we have to go."

"I'm not going to any dance."

"Caroline will be there."

"That means nothing to me," said Nik. Keira snickered as his heart jumped, proving he was lying. "Shut up."

"Oh come on Nik. It's just a dance. Rebekah can go to her dance, and you can grab the doppelganger on the way home!" said Keira.

"Ooh, you should come too!" said Rebekah.

"1920s?"

"1920s."

"I loved that decade. I'm in."

"Okay, fine. One last hoorah," said Nik, sighing.

"One last hoorah," Rebekah smiled.

Later, at the dance, the person the Mikaelson's were there for in the first place wasn't even there.

"Where the bloody hell is Rebekah??" Keira said as Nik and her walked in.

"I don't know," said Nik. He wore a white suit and a black tie, and was staring at Caroline and another boy with dark brown hair and tanned skin.

"One of your hybrids?" said Keira. She wore a turquoise knee length dress with a gem in the center and sequined patterns around it. It was sleeveless, and she wore black elbow length gloves, long earrings and a necklace, and a 1920 style headband over her long hair that was styled up to look shorter.

"We have a sire bond. Then he left town, which I don't recall telling him her could do." Nik walked over to them and stared at Caroline, and the other boy, who appeared to be her boyfriend, looked half annoyed half afraid.

"What is it?" said Caroline, exasperated.

"Where've you been mate?" said Nik.

"Just got back into town," said the hybrid.

"That's funny, Tyler, I don't recall giving you permission to leave in the first place. You don't mind if I cut in, do you?" said Nik.

"Yes, actually, we do!" Caroline exclaimed.

"No, it's fine," said Tyler. Caroline glared at him and his sire bond.

"Why do you always have to prove you're the alpha male?!" she said to Nik.

Nik made puppy eyes. "I don't have to prove anything, love, I am the alpha male! Come on, one dance, I won't bite." Caroline looked at Tyler and he looked down, before she took Nik's hand and danced with him.
