mollie was sat in english in the back, spacing out again. her mums ugly voices were sticking in her head, and it made her feel that she was going to vomit.
she felt a little tap on her shoulder. 'are you okay?', mrs mulgrew asked.she nodded yes, and had to force a smile. those three words as a question, could break a person into crying, like a thousands of glass shards, scattered everywhere.
but that smile would hide all of it.christine remained unconvinced and kept an eye on her.
the black doodles in the corners of the page were the only thing she could concentrate on. it would distract any bad sickening feelings any hurtful intentions.
the tapping of her feet on the ground, would make them stare more, and christine would only ask again.'oi mollie why are you drawing', said a boy sitting near her.
'mollie?', christine said putting her pen down. 'okay honey lets just put the pen down okay', she said taking mollie's hand to stop her drawing.
everyone around giggled, leaving mollie even more on edge.
'she must be gaga', shouted maddy. as everyone around her laughed.
'be quiet, otherwise you can go to the cooler!', christine said sternly.
mollie did nothing wrong, why couldn't they just leave her alone..
the bell rang and everyone left, expect mollie as christine stopped her.
'what's up with you today sweet?', christine asked.
mollie couldn't hold her tears, she just started crying.
'hey hey hey, what is it'.
'nothing i'm just an idiot when i'm tired', mollie said wiping her tears.
'we can call your mum if you need to go...', christine said
mollie cut in, 'no you can't she's working, i'll be fine', she said in desperation.
'okay sweetheart, well you know where i am', christine replied giving mollie a reassuring and safe looking smile.
mollie ran out forcing a smile, but christine knew something was wrong, she just had no intention, in pushing mollie to open up to her.
