when amelia got back to the house, she immediately took a nap.

not even bothering to shower, she just placed her phone on the charger, laid in bed, and immediately fell asleep.

she'd only been napping for about 2 hours before someone opened her door and jumped on her bed repeatedly for her to wake up.

"amelia.." belly said in a sing song voice. "mel!" she jumped on the girl, causing her to jolt awake quite stunned.

"what?!" amelia yelled, shoving her cousin off of her. belly giggled, "guess what. guess what. guess what." she bounced on the bed like a child.

"isabel conklin, you have three seconds to get off my bed." the tired girl warned. belly put her hands up in surrender, yet remained on the bed.

"okay. so you'll never believe what happened at the tea." she started, while amelia just nodded slowly indicating she could continue.

"okay, well first i was sat next to the girl who saw me fall at the bonfire, you know, the one conrad was kissing. yeah, i know. super awkward." she motioned her hands around as she spoke.

"anyways, then you got brought up. oh! also, the girl steven was with was also there. she was so sweet to-"

"hold on." amelia put her index finger up for belly to stop talking. "why did i get brought up?" she sat up, face to face with belly.

"oh, right. well some girl, fifi? no..gi.." she trailed, trying to remember the girls name.

"gigi?"

"right. yeah. duh." she face palmed. "yeah, anyways. well she was asking about you and jeremiah. asking what was going on with the two of you. i guess she has some crush on him or something." belly shrugged, bouncing a little more on the bed.

"i never realized how bouncy your bed was." she continued bouncing.

"belly. what did you say to her?"

"oh, umm.. i told her you two were best friends, nothing more nothing less." she smiled. amelia grew a little disappointed. she wanted people to maybe think her and jeremiah had something going on so that they'd steer clear, or she at least wanted gigi to think so.

"oh. o-okay. good, good." she nodded, forcing a smile.

from here on out, amelia made a promise to herself. jeremiah meant as much to her, as she meant to him. she couldn't deal with the constant worries if he likes her, or is he's just playing mind games.

"so. tell me more about that tea. are you excited about being a deb?"

"mel!" a very clearly distressed belly called. it seemed like amelia just couldn't catch a break in the slightest in this house.

"amelia mendoza. get your ass in here!" she yelled, clearly having no regards to her mother just down stairs who could probably hear her swear.

speed walking, and pushing the door open, amelia huffed, "what is so important that i can't sleep?"

"how do i look?" she turned to face the girl.

amelia's annoyed expression turned into one of shock with a huge smile growing.

"bells!" she squealed running to the girl. "oh, my God. you look- just wow!" she twirled her cousin by the hand.

"just where are you going looking this damn gorgeous?" she quirked an eyebrow, putting a hand on her hip.

"a date." she smiled. amelia's always loved belly's smile. it was so innocent and full of light.
