amelia and jeremiah had beaten nicole and conrad to the house, which if you ask them they totally won. all of the girls, and the boyfriends,  steven and cam, were all sitting on the decked out pier discussing celebrities, while jeremiah and conrad were playing football with their dad. conrad didn't look too happy when he was around his father, where as jeremiah was the complete opposite.

amelia knew of conrad's problem with his father, even though he didn't know of hers. and she was there for him every time something would happen or if he just wanted to vent about it.

"i don't get conrad. it's, like, one minute he's all over me, and he stays over, but then we don't even fuck, right?" nicole stated, amelia nearly choked on her water when she mentioned the last sentence.

"and then this morning he's, like, super into me, he's all over me, and now he's like, 'oh, football.'" she finished, looking to the girls for help. amelia really couldn't care less for nicole's boy trouble with the boy her cousin has a crush on. but she'd want someone to give her advice, so it seemed like the right thing to do to at least pretend she was listening.

"yeah, no, he's really hard to read sometimes." belly chuckled lightly, "like all the time."

"do you really think he likes me?" nicole looked in between belly and amelia. "shit, i don't even know." amelia sighed, throwing her head back. she'd missed the entire conversation except for nicole's question. "but you're really pretty?" amelia added awkwardly when she received looks.

"yeah. yeah, totally. i mean, he talks about you a lot." belly lied. there wasn't a moment that conrad mentioned nicoles name unless he was announcing that he was leaving to see her.

"really?" nicole looked over to amelia for confirmation. "oh, yeah. definitely." she nodded, doing the 'ok' hand gesture.

"hi." cam approached belly, handing her water. amelia didn't even notice he was gone, when she looked over, so was steven.

"you may want to hydrate." she took the water from him, smiling widely. "cam cameron, you are so sweet. isn't he sweet?" she grabbed his cheeks, pinching them.

"mm-hmm." shayla nodded as nicole smiled at the two. "uh, do you want to go for a walk on the beach?" he asked the girl who instead of drinking the water continued getting more intoxicated with the alcoholic beverage.

"belly, by the way, i love that dress." shayla complimented. "really? thanks, i.. taylor got it for me, actually."

"mm, taylor has great taste." shayla smiled. "yeah, i know, right? she totally does." she looked down before popping right back up. "you know what?" she giggled. "you and taylor are, like, twins. because you're both mega-fashiony." she pointed out, amelia definitely knew where she was going.

"belly, i think you should go on that walk with cam." amelia chuckled nervously. "no, no. they're both like baddies." everyone but amelia laughed. shayla didn't deserve this, she also didn't deserve to have been cheated on, but she didn't deserve to find out from a drunk 16 year old.

"and you both like the same summer boys, which is.." she trailed, still giggling. "uh, what belly means to say is you both like the same type of boy, like-"

"come on, let's go for that walk." cam grabbed belly's hands pulling her up. "no, no, no, cam. i'm talking. one sec."

"look, shayla, like, don't worry, because my brother is an idiot. and it didn't mean anything. it didn't mean anything." belly rambled. she just kept talking, and amelia was scared that if she did, her secrets would come out too.

"wait, what didn't mean anything?" shayla asked as cam continued to dry to drag her away.

"uh, them-them kissing. it was like..he-he, like, loves you." belly confessed, being dragged away by cam.
