amelia and jeremiah stepped out of the jeep, walking hand in hand into the house party. they'd arrived a little more than 5 minutes before belly, cam, and taylor.

when they entered they greeted some people before getting a drink and sitting on a red sofa. amelia sat beside him with her legs across his lap, one of his hands resting on her thigh, the other draped over her shoulder as he held his cup.

people amelia didn't know, quickly crowded the pair, probably for jeremiah. she just smiled and laughed when needed so she didn't come off as weird. but given the fact that multiple girls were giving her a very dirty look, she'd say coming off as weird was the least of her problems.

"millie!" she heard the accent of her new found friend, gavin.

"gavin!" she laughed, standing up to give the boy a hug. "this is my boyfriend, luke." he motioned toward the dark skinned boy beside him who nodded shyly.

"hi, i'm amelia, and this is my best friend jeremiah." she greeted the boy while jeremiah simply raised his hand in a wave before grabbing amelia by the waist and placing her on his lap rather than beside him like she was before.

gavin raised an eyebrow at the interaction before grabbing his boyfriends arm and leaving. "we're gonna get a drink, we'll be right back."

amelia sat for a minute, thinking about what gavin said to her. she couldn't decide if she wanted to kiss some random again or get drunk.

maybe she could get drunk and then make out with someone. she had the whole thing planned out, and she had her sights set on who it would be.

lyla summers.

she always thought the girl was hot and she looks even hotter tonight, not to mention lyla's also into girls. but at the same time, amelia didn't wanna seem like a whore, because it wasn't long ago she was making out with gavin on the middle of the beach.

amelia didn't know what overcame her but she found herself tapping jeremiah's shoulder. she didn't know whether it was the alcohol making it's way into her system, or because she needed an answer to the question she's been asking ever since summer began.

"jere." he stopped his conversation and looked up at the girl who was still on his lap. "yeah?"

"wanna ma-"

"mel! there you are!" taylor giggled running to the girl and grabbing her hands. "come on, i'm bored and belly left me." she said dragging the girl off of jeremiah's lap.

amelia and taylor had small talk whilst exploring the house with no where in mind. they've been walking for a solid 10 minutes before seeing someone they knew.

"stevie boy!" amelia yelled, clapping the boy on the back. "mel, what did i tell you about calling me that?" he gritted, looking around to make sure no one heard.

"that looks fancy." taylor peeked over his shoulder at the girl in his phone. "personally, i'd rather be comfortable." she shrugged.

"aww, steven, are you and shayla going to the deb ball together?" amelia knocked her shoulder into his. "yes. and fancy isn't always better, so.."

"i don't think belly agrees. she seems fully on board with the fancy girls." taylor rolled her eyes. 'so that's why she's hanging out with me?' amelia thought to herself.

"no, no, no, no. look, she's just trying it out." steven informed her. "look, girls like that, they're cool in theory, all right, but belly's never gonna feel fully comfortable around them." amelia shook her head.

taylor scoffed causing steven to speak again. "come on, look, she's always gonna need you. all right? you're, like, her number one." he smiled. amelia stood quite watching the interaction with squinted eyes.
