Bill's POV

"Shush! Now's not the time, furbrain!" I snapped, holding the black cat in my arms.

We eventually did get to the Shack moments before. I even told Pinetree I wanted to be alone just so he wouldn't see the animal!

"Why. Did. The. Axolotl. Send. You." I enunciated, checking its fur, and opening its mouth. It mewed, shoving it's body in my face. I toppled on the roof, clawing the cat off.

"BLEH! C-Cat! K-HACK!- It's killing me! C-Choking!"

I gave up after a few minutes, laying on the roof with a cat on my face.

This is so humiliating-

The cat moved a bit, giving me space to breathe.

At least, it gave me some air. But, why is it here? Think Cipher Think! Why a cat?! Is this just some coincidence?!

After pulling the cat off, I fixed up its home in the box, giving it the occasional crumbs of whatever I could find. It started to eat, getting in what is called a 'loaf position.'

I criss crossed my legs, tapping my chin and watching it.

Pinetree would know what to do.

No, no he wouldn't. I sighed. He would.

This kid is driving me crazy.

I stuffed the cat in the box, but it began to get stubborn, scattering and jumping out of the box. I growled in anger, scooping the cat and shoving it in. It jumped out once again.

"What do you want?!" I yelled.

It walked over, using its claws to climb onto my shoulder. It's fuzzy head rubbed against my cheek, purring in my ear. I groaned, snapping my fingers and teleporting into Pinetree's room.

"Ahh! Stop doing that!" Pinetree yelled, almost jumping off the chair in surprise. He seemed to be writing in his new journal, a silver pinetree on the cover with a dark navy outline.

"What do you want now?" He asked tiredly.

"Well, the great Axolotl gave me a sign-"

"Really?! What was it?!" He exclaimed, just before seeing the black fur ball on my shoulder.

He looked at it, stroking its fur. The cat suddenly jumped up, climbing onto Pinetree. He started freaking out, throwing his hands up as sweat went down his forehead. The cat decided to rest on Pinetree's shoulder now.

I chuckled. "Scaredy cat, Pinetree?" I teased.

"I thought it would kill me. Like you." He hissed.

I gasped, placing a hand to my heart. "I'm offended you would think so little of me!"

Pinetree huffed, rolling his eyes. The cat's wide yellow eyes stared at Dipper, as it tilts its head curiously.

"So, you told showed me this why?" He asked dully.

"Because! It could be a sign of what we are supposed to do! Also, it tried to kill me!-" I start.

"It's a cat! It can't kill you, weirdo. Plus, there's no noticeable sign at it..at least not yet. It just looks normal." He says, placing the cat on the ground.

It squirmed around, jumping at the sight of one of Shooting Star's yarn on the ground.

"Let's name it Alcor." He says.

I looked at him in confusion. "Alcor? Why?"

"Because. It's the name of one of my favorite stars. Do you have a better option?"

"No..I like it." I add.

Me and Pinetree kneeled down, watching it roll around.

"We should keep an eye on it until we can find clues." Pinetree finally answered.

"Yes, obviously Sherlock."

Dipper's POV

"Do you want to go for a walk? I think it can clear our head." I say after a moment of silence.

"Sure thing." Bill say, snapping his fingers. He teleported us to a nearby lake I recognized.

"I said we should TAKE a walk!" I snapped in irritation.

"You didn't want to miss this Pinetree." Bill cooed, urging me forward.

The water was clear and still, the peaceful sound of crickets in the day. My favorite time was at night when the fireflies would appear. If only they would stick around long enough for me to see up close.

Bill sat next to the water stream, ushering me to come next to him. He pat the spot and I took a reluctant seat.

There was an awkward silence until Bill spoke up.

"We should probably take the cat out of the bag-" Bill adds, snickering.

"Ah! Right!" I yelled, opening my bag quickly.

Bill decided to put the cat in my bag and close it, but if it died it's Bill's fault right?! Does teleportation make time goes faster? Is it dead?! Please-

I opened it up and a small head poked up. The cat licked my nose and jumped out, licking itself.

"It didn't die. Suspicious.."

"It had a will to live that's why. Can't say the same with me when you're around," I muttered, groaning and falling backward to lay down. The soft grass on my body felt calming than most. The woods were really an amazing thing.

Bill flopped backward, staring at me. He put the palms of his hands behind his head, looking up. Alcor suddenly jumped on Bill's stomach. Bill hacked, as the cat sat back on Bill's face. I start chuckling, smirking.

"How's the view?" I asked playfully.

Silence.

"Good job Alcor, you killed him~" I teased happily, sighing peacefully.

Minutes pass.

Silence.

I looked over at him.

"Bill?"

Silence.

"Uh..Bill? Okay, stop playing around." I say back seriously, looking at him.

Nothing.
