Bill's POV

I heard the trees just outside clink against Pinetree's nearby window. I watched my still Pinetree sleep in his dazed dreams, my eyes staying in place.

Please be alive, my Sapling. I need you..

Outside, on another rainy day while the thunder boomed worse than before out his hospital room.

He slowly opened his eyes and looked at me. Almost in relief. My own heart thundered in my ears, louder than behind of the window. I jumped up from my chair I've sat in and rushed to his side, holding onto his hands for dear life.

Pinetree nearly jumped, smiling at me in tears. Suddenly, a flood of relief and sadness was felt through me.

Sadness?-

"You're okay!" He exclaimed, gently pulling me down in a hug. I chuckled, squeezing him softly. I didn't want to hurt him any more than he has.

"Of course I am. I promised you. I should have stayed by your side." I say back in guilt.

He looked at me for several minutes before saddening. He brought his hands away, looking at me in anger.

"He hurt me..he told me that you didn't love me." Pinetree says softly.

"What?! You can't seriously believe him, can you?! I care about you Pinetree! My, sweet, sweet loving Pinetree!-" I began happily.

"If you loved me, why haven't you said it?" He muttered, looking at me coldly.

"Said what? Pinetree, we need to find William before he hurts you!-"

"He did HURT me Bill!" He countered back. Pinetree moved his body up, wiping any other tears he had.

He wasn't bitter per say, but it seemed furious.

"I love you. Those words. You haven't said it once." He sneered.

I gaped.

That's what the fuss is about?!

"It's just merely three words! What can they really do?!" I exclaimed.

"Did you really say that to me?"

Silence.

"I said, did you really say that to me?" He repeats in fury.

"It doesn't matter!" I snapped.

"IT DOES TO ME!" He yelled, panting.

Silence.

"You know what? Forget it. It doesn't matter. Mabel needs our help." Pinetree states seriously.

"You can't walk, Sapling-" I say

"I WILL walk if I need to." He pushed, swinging his legs over.

Pinetree tried to hide his deep inflicting pain from his injuries. He screwed his eyes shut, biting his lip to attempt to brush it off. He managed to stand just to collapse on shaking legs. I heard his whines in pain, struggling to come back up.

"Pinetree!" I panicked, holding a arm up. He winced, digging his hands to my shoulders. "I..I got it! We need to find Mabel! Something is in the hospital hurting people!" He yelled painfully.

I quickly sat him back on the bed, snapping some water for him. "You are in no condition to walk! I'm healed! I'll go get your sister! You're going to strain yourself!" I argued back, pushing him down.

"I'm not just going to do nothing! I don't want you to get hurt!"

"I'll be fine! I just need to know that you're safe and sound."

Nurses and Doctors started to run in at the mere sound of a argument. I let go and the humans restrained him. He fought back, watching me move away. I took a few steps back before I heard his voice breaking.

"Bill! Don't you dare leave without me! She needs both of us! I can't lose you please!"

"I'm sorry, Dipper."

I turn away, running out the door. I kept running and running, feeling Pinetree's emotions crumble and shatter deep inside me.
