During their next appointment, Zayn took note of everything Liam told the doctor
He (the doctor) was doing a few tests, seemingly frowning before he took a note of something, he mumbled something then started up the machine
Zayn was writing something down when Liam patted his shoulder, he looked at him and Liam nodded towards the machine
Zayn turned towards it and took a deep breath, while Zayn looked at the screen, Liam looked at Zayn
He immediately sprung to ask the doctor questions that the doctor seemed to answer with more enthusiasm than he did when talking to Liam
Then Zayn heard the heartbeat, he took Liam's hand in his and pressed a soft kiss to it; his eyes were closed like his whole life he was waiting for this moment
And once it ended he was going to repeat it in his head, over and over again
Once the doctor was done, he walked out and a nurse walked in. She smiled and muttered a small hello
She briefed them that everything was fine, Liam was doing fine, all his bloodwork was fine and that the doctor will come in to talk to them more
She asked if they had any questions but Zayn asked a few
"No actually, walking is good, so is swimming and any form of exercise is..." she smiled "Including intercourse"
Liam blushed and Zayn forced himself to nod, she then left and Liam looked at Zayn "I told you walking is fine" he mumbled
"You got tired"
"Because I was feeling sick"
"How am I not supposed to know that that's not because of the walk?"
Liam shook his head and they both quieted down once the doctor walked in
"Some good news, the baby's development is doing well, faster but that's not unusual for the child of a god" Liam and Zayn nodded "Though, it is worrying for the sir Liam's size, it could lead to some serious complications"
Zayn tensed "What kind?"
The doctor took a breath "We don't know yet... usually gods tend to link themselves with gods, not half mortals... it would be better if the younger one stays well rested, and not stressed" the doctor said then sat down
"It's better to stay safe for the sake of the child... and Liam"

"You're panicking again..."
"You knew?"
Liam nodded "Kinda; The first doctor I went to say that it all depends on how the baby grows, the bigger or the smaller side" Zayn nodded and Liam sighed
"Zayn, I don't want you stressed through all of this... please" Zayn looked at him, Liam cupped his cheeks
"Who knows what will happen, whether this baby will be born here, or in Olympus or the mortal world... it's all upto whatever happens happens"
"You still want to go to the mortal world?" Zayn whispered
Liam nodded slowly "If there's nothing to really keep me here... yeah, I would"

"Liam-"
"I'm safe, mother. I'm well taken care of and I'm doing well"
"I'm glad, dear... but is it true? Are you really going to have his child?"
"Yeah, mum. I am..."
"Sweetie, you don't have to do this, there are options-"
"I know, but I do..." Liam took a breath "And I'm hoping you'll be supportive through it"
"Oh my love, of course I will be... I just hope you're doing this because you want to; not for wishes, hopes and dreams" Liam stayed quiet "Liam... I'm sorry to say, but there's a big chance the god of the underworld could never see you as anything more than the other parent of his child"
"But there is a chance he could" Liam whispered
"If you say so, my love... I'm here for you sweetie, when can I see you again?"
Liam ran his fingers through his hair "once I complete 6 months being here, I'm free to leave"
"Ok darling, call me whenever you need anything"

Liam was seated on the bed when he stood up and slowly walked out, he made his way downstairs and towards the kitchen
He knocked on the doorframe, Zayn turned towards him and nodded
"Join me tonight?"
Zayn smiled "Can I?"
Liam smiled "I asked you, didn't I?"
Zayn smiled, he put away the last plate before he walked towards Liam and picked him up, Liam laughed but wrapped his arms around Zayn's neck
"Let's get you to bed, yeah?"
Liam hummed and nodded "As long as you're there with me..."

Zayn watched Liam as he slept, he pulled Liam closer and kissed his head; rubbing up and down Liam's back
Liam sighed and snuggled into Zayn's neck, Zayn ran his fingers through Liam's hair before he closed his eyes
"What do you do to me?" He whispered "Do you know? Do I know? I don't think I do... but you must know, right?" He whispered before he took a deep breath and smiling before he buried his face into Liam's hair
"You have to know... you're the smartest person I know"

He woke up in the morning and Liam was gone, he nearly panicked seeing the bedroom door left open
He quickly got up and ran down, skipping multiple steps at a time, he turned the corner and stopped seeing Dionysus, and Hermes
Both of them having a plate of something in their hands, Zayn slowly turned and walked into the kitchen
Letting out a breath seeing Liam, Hestia was laughing at something he said while Liam stood by the stove in Zayn's clothes
"Ouuu, the king has awoken"
Liam turned to him and smiled "Hey, did we wake you?" Zayn just shook his head, Liam's smile fell, he turned to Hestia "Mind giving us a moment" He said giving her the plate in his hands
She perked up "Nope, I don't mind at all" she said then walked out, a distant gasp was heard from the other 2 but Liam and Zayn ignored them
Liam walked closer to Zayn and frowned, putting his hands on Zayn's face "What's wrong?"
Zayn took a deep breath, wrapping his arms around Liam's waist "You didn't wake me up... and I think that's the problem"
Liam smiled weakly "You looked so peaceful... I didn't want to disturb that" he stood on his toes and kissed Zayn's jaw "I'm sorry love, next time I'll wake you up"
Zayn smiled weakly "I thought you left..."
Liam shook his head, poking Zayn's cheek "Come on now... you're smarter than that, I still have some time before I'm just allowed to leave"
Zayn forced a laugh "Yeah, yeah you still have time"
