The sun sets as everyone leaves the cemetery, offering condolences to Suzy. She stays standing in the same spot long after everyone has left. With tears streaming down her face, she places one red rose on his grave and blows him a kiss goodbye. Smiling wryly she turns around and walks away trying to be strong for their unborn baby.

"I don't have much time left so I-" Davy coughed uncontrollably. Suzy got up in a hurry to call for a nurse but he stopped her. "I need you to listen carefully please."

She nodded and he went on.

"I want you to be strong when I'm gone-"

"But I'm having a baby I can't do this without you!" she interrupted, then covered her mouth when she saw his wide eyes. "I'm so sorry! I found out this morning and was coming to tell you..."

He grinned despite everything, "There's gonna be a little Davy running around making people smile."

His eyes drooped but the smile stayed on his face as the moniter went off. Nurses rushed in but Suzy knew there was nothing they could do. She held his hand the whole time until they pronounced him officially dead and then she wept, long and hard.

Loss is a thing of life, I'm finally coming to terms with that. I may not like it, but I won't let it hold me back from loving my baby unconditionally.
