Third-person POV
"Your hair is really soft after you let me wash it." He had his head resting on your chest as you played with his hair.

"Do we have to go out tonight? I'd much rather just spend the night with you." his eyes were closed, clearly enjoying the feeling of your hands in his hair.

"We told them we were coming, we can't back out now. Besides, I did not shave for nothing." You pouted slightly

"Fine." He said, giving in "but we're going home no later than 9:30."

You slid yourself out from Jesse's grasp as you moved to your bathroom to get ready. After half an hour, you were nearly ready and Jesse still hadn't moved from his position on the bed as he silently scrolled through his phone.

"Ok, get your ass off the bed it's time to go." You headed to the door but only to spin back around after he doesn't follow. "Jess, come on! We agreed that we would go!"

"Alteration to the terms of me going, as soon as we are home that dress comes off." His eyes are glued to your ass.

"Done." You already had one foot out the door.

Jesse drove with one hand on the steering wheel and one resting on your thigh. His mind had clearly wondered elsewhere when he drove right past the bar.

"Jess." His eyes darted from the road to look at you, "you missed the turn-off, is everything alright babe?"

"Sorry I'm just a little... distracted." again his eyes scaled up your body.

You were about 15 minutes late when you finally arrived. Maxi's girlfriend Tahlia was the first to embrace you as Jesse went to say hi to the rest of his mates.

"How have you been going babe?" you asked, eager to catch up on the latest news.

"Pretty good, I've settled into my new job nicely. How about you? Your still yet to show me the ring you know?"

"Oh my God! You haven't seen the ring yet? I can't believe it's been that long!" you showed off your sparkling new engagement ring.

You and Tahlia spent most of the night together talking as you two were the only woman there. You felt an arm wrap around your waist as the sunset fell behind the horizon as the day shifted into night. Jesse placed a sweet kiss on your cheek as he admired the sky.

He leaned to your ear "hey, do you mind if we start to say our goodbyes and head home." His voice was husky and the smell of alcohol and smoke cling to his shirt.

You said your goodbyes and made your way back to the car. Jesse had pulled you close to his side, kissing the top of your head. You gazed up at the stars above as you felt the peace that came with the end of another day, wrapped in the arms of the man you love.
