INT. Creel house - night
The darkness consumes the house. Max, Erica and Lucas walk through the hallways.
Max
Use the lights like we did last time. See if we can find him.
Lucas
Got it.
Erica
I wasn't here last time.
Lucas
Eri-
Max
Just go with her, Lucas.
Lucas nods to Max. Max heads upstairs, placing her headphones on. Cassette player not yet turned on.
Lucas
Come on.
They head off in a different direction.
Lucas
You just turn on your light and when it flashes...Vecna is close.
Erica
Why didn't you just say it's like what happened in our kitchen?
She's got him on this one.
Lucas
I- We- You're so dumb...
We hear the floor creak in another room.
Lucas
What was that?
Erica
What?
A door is heard opening.
Lucas
Max! Is that you?
No reply.
Lucas
Stay here, I'm gonna go check it out.
Erica
Shouldn't we stay together?
Lucas
Just stay...please.
Erica
Whatever.
Lucas walks into the next room. Erica hears another door in another room. She walks towards it.
Lucas searches another room. He goes to open a door.
Max walks around upstairs. Her light begins to blink.
Max
Hey! Hey! I found him.
Max follows the light. It blinks repeatedly. It leads her to another room.
Max
Guys! Up here! I think I found him!
She gets to the door frame of the room when suddenly the flashlight explodes. It startles her.
Complete darkness takes over the room. All we hear is a slithering like noise... It creeps closer.
Max breathes heavily...quickly. She slowly moves her hand down to her Walkman. The noise nearly on top of her.
Max presses play and "Running up that hill" plays.
No more noise around her. A light turns on behind her in the hallway. She spots it and examines it. It then fades..
Another light pops on, Vecna is moving.. Max follows closely.
Lucas searches another door... nothing.
Lucas
Shit...
