James ruffled his already unkept hair as a group of girls passed by. None of the girls even shot him a glance, except Lily.

She turned to him and gave him an unamused look before turning away, continuing her conversation with the three other girls.

"Worth a shot, eh, Moony?" James whispered to him, nudging the boy slightly on the shoulder.

"Well, I suppose," Remus muttered back, his eyebrows furrowed in concentration as he wrote down his Charms essay.

James leaned back into the tree and slung an arm around Sirius with a grin, "I think I'm gonna start Quidditch trials tomorrow."

He paused, then added, "Of course I'll let you in, you're my best mate and an exceptional keeper,"

Sirius grinned back in response, then the group went into a comfortable silence before:

"When's our Transfiguration essay due?" Peter asked anxiously as he started to dig around in his bag in search for the essay.

"In a couple of hours, why? You didn't do it, did you?" Remus raised an eyebrow at the anxious boy who shook his head and started to frantically search his bag for the essay.

"He never does," Sirius said, earning a glare from Peter.

"Can I copy off of you, Moony? Please, just this once, I haven't finished mines," Peter begged once he found the paper. Remus rolled his eyes with a sigh.

"You say that all the time, but sure," he grabbed the essay out of his bag and handed it to Peter, who smiled in thanks.

"Oh, I've just remembered! I have detention," James exclaimed, jumping up, making his glasses askew; then Remus jumped up as well, his eyes wide.

"I have detention with you!" Remus yelped. Sirius frowned.

"You both got up to mischief without me and Wormy? Wow," Sirius let out a sigh and folded his arms across his chest. James sent him an apologetic look.

"Sorry, mate, I got bored since you were in detention and Wormtail was out snogging someone," Peter flushed a little while Remus smirked.

Sirius gasped and held a hand to his heart as he turned to a blushing Peter, "You never told me you were seeing someone!"

"Shut up,"

"We'll see you both at dinner!" Remus yelled as he sped off after James, who was practically running towards the castle.

Regulus leaned against the stone wall outside Professor McGonagalls' office, silently seething about the incident from earlier.

Barty had put a farting charm on the professor, and then blamed it on Regulus, making him the one getting detention.

He had decided to come rather early, just about ten minutes, but that meant Professor McGonagall wasn't ready to start yet.

But, that also meant he had time to just sit (stand) and get lost in his own thoughts, something he enjoyed to do, but didn't have the time to do regularly.

Just as he was about to leave, thinking that maybe Professor McGonagall was running late, he almost pissed his own pants when he saw two boys running towards him.

"Sorry Minnie, we didn't realize—hold on, you aren't Minnie!" James realized, his eyebrows furrowed at Regulus.

Pause.

"Um, sorry about him, Regulus," Remus apologized, grabbing James' forearm and dragging him away from Regulus.

He was frozen to the spot; James Potter and Remus Lupin? Half-werewolf and bloodtraitor? Yeah, now he really needed to go.
