[A/N: this story contains Sarah x Yolay so. Don't read if you don't like that ship. Ok thank you]
The sunlight beamed through Yolay's convertible as she adjusted her sunglasses. The tall buildings in Collardale reached high above the land, casting long dark shadows that cut through the warm buttery rays like a sharp knife.
"So," Yolay said, facing Sarah, who was sitting in the passenger seat, wearing a sunhat with her typical dress. "Where do you want to go for our, uh, date?"
Sarah shrugged. "I don't really care, maybe just to, like, a coffee shop? That sounds nice."
Yolay smiled as they continued driving. "Sounds good to me!" She said, and they continued on their way.

After a while, they arrived at a small café that had a wooden roof over the outdoor balcony. The warm afternoon rays seemed to make the fresh summer leaves on the greenery glow as Sarah and Yolay walked in, elbows locked.
They both went inside and joined the line to the counter, Sarah taking off their hat and Yolay her glasses, when a random person popped up beside Yolay.
"Oh my god!!" They said, their face lighting up. They had short hair and wore a green shirt and jeans. "Are you Yolay Caprese?"
Yolay nodded. "The one and only!"
The persons eyes lit up. "Holy guac, Yolay Caprese. Um, Ms Caprese, can I get your autograph please?"
"Er, sure," Yolay said, and Sarah reached into her bag and grabbed a pen. "Thank you, sweetie!"
The stranger, who was holding a sketchbook, opened to the first page and pointed at the bottom left of the inside cover. "There, please, Ms Caprese." As Yolay signed the sketchbook, the fan suddenly noticed Sarah.
"And you're Sarah Hatoff, the news reporter, right?"
Sarah nodded, confused. "Yep!"
The stranger beamed at both of them and stuck their sketchbook out to Sarah as well. "Please? I understand if not of course," they said sheepishly, looking at Sarah, who smiled as Yolay handed her the pen.
Sarah signed the sketchbook, and the fan smiled and bounced away with a wave of 'thank you's. Sarah and Yolay looked at each other before shrugging and moving forward in the line.
When they got to the front of the line, the slightly tired barista was ready to take their order.
"Hello, misses. What would you like to order?"
"Hmmmm, I'll have a French vanilla cappuccino, and she'll have- Sarah, what do you want?"
"Uh, just a latte. With........ creamer?"
The barista nodded. "Both of your names?"
"I'm Yolay, she's Sarah."
The barista nodded again, and the two sat down at one of the waiting tables, which had two vinyl lime-green cushions sewed onto stools serving as chairs. Sarah smiled at Yolay as they sat down waiting patiently for the baristas to finish their coffees.
"So, how has your day been Yolay?" Sarah asked nervously, not sure how to start any conversation.
"Good, good, how's yours been?"
"Also good." Sarah looked around and the large canvas posters with splashes of paint, and occasionally a figure in shadow, when she noticed a print with two blue birds on a tree branch.
"Uh, Sarah?"
Sarah snapped back into reality. "Yes, honey?"
Yolay stood looking at Sarah for a moment confused. "Our coffees. The barista called our name."
"OH, sorry, sorry," Sarah said, standing up hurriedly and they both started walking over to the counter to relieve their coffees.
