•Chapter 7•

Taylor's POV

Darkness. That's all I could see. I didn't know where I was. I couldn't see anything.

'You can't see anything because you have your eyes closed, genius.' My wolf said irritated.

'Oh. My fault.' I responded back.

I began to open my eyes slowly. When I realized it was dark in the room, I opened my eyes completely. I looked around and saw that I wasn't in a room.

I was outside. I looked up and saw Joshual, Ryan, Mason, Michael, and Zane staring at me with wide eyes. They looked a bit taller too. I tried to ask what was wrong, but when I tried to talk it came out as a... bark? I looked down and saw two, big white paws.

What is wrong with me? Did something happen? Omg! They mutated me. No that can't be it.

'You shifted, slowness.' Rose, my wolf said annoyed but excited at the same time.

'Shifted?!' I yelled back.

Why did I shift into my wolf now? Oh no! They will find out that I wasn't able to shift because I wasn't born as a shifter. I looked back up and saw Joshual walking to me slowly. I jumped up which made him stumble back.

I began to turn around but stopped when I saw a wolf standing there. It was Ryan.

I backed away, but they were surrounding me. I couldn't take the pressure. I have to get out of here.

"Taylor, it's okay. Don't be scared." Joshual said, walking back towards me. I didn't want him to, but my wolf did. I couldn't control my body anymore.

'Rose stop and help me find a way out of here.' I said to my wolf.

'No. We need our mate.' She said as if she was possessed.

I looked around, but there was nowhere I could go. I was panicking. I couldn't control my breathing and I felt like I could pass out any minute. Then out of nowhere, that powerful feeling came back.

'Taylor calm down.' Ryan said through the link.

'Ryan, what's going on? Why am I in wolf form? You told me I wasn't a shifter.' I said. Then all these thoughts came to my head.

Did he lie to me? Was it true that I couldn't shift or was he just trying to keep me from shifting? I mean, I wasn't able to shift all my life, but now it's like I'm a pro at it.

'I will explain it to you later.' He said walking toward me. I stepped back.

I was still stepping back when my paw stepped on a sharp rock. I slipped and yelped in pain. I was bleeding and I had this massive headache. Joshual came running up to me.

"Are you okay?" He asked worriedly.

He was talking, but I couldn't hear him. My ears were ringing. I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore. I closed them, allowing the darkness to take over.

Joshual's POV

"Taylor keep your eyes open. Taylor! She isn't responding." I yelled. I could see the panic in her eyes. She didn't know what was happening.

"Just let her rest. When she wakes up, I will explain it to her." Ryan said calmly. He was now shifted back into his human form with some shorts on.

"How could you be so calm when your Alpha, for the 'first time', shifted and then falls out in the middle of a garden?" I questioned him.

"I am so 'calm' because I knew this was going to happen. Well, not like this exactly." He said.

I sighed and looked back at my mate. She was laying here still in her wolf form. I rubbed over her snow-white fur. I still can't believe I have a mate that is the white wolf. She leaned into my touch and sighed.

"We should get her insi-" I started to say, but stopped when Taylor's wolf started shaking violently with the cracking of bones.

"Move back," Ryan said. I moved back, but not too far. As you all know, when we shift back we tend to have on no type of clothing and I don't want my mate to be naked in front of all these men.

'At least we'll get to see our mate naked.' My wolf, Xavier said excitedly.

'You are such a perv. We just met her.' I responded back.

My wolf rolled his eyes and stayed silent. I looked at my mate, who wasn't shaking anymore, but her bones were still cracking. She was beginning to shift back into her human form, but what shocked me was that she was still dressed in what she had on.

"How is she.... how is she still in her clothes?" I asked in shock.

"Disappointed?" Ryan asked, chuckling. I growled at him. I had to say, I was slightly disappointed. Especially my wolf, but I wasn't going to admit that.

"Whatever," I mumbled. I walked to Taylor's sleeping form and picked her up.

"I guess you all can stay until tomorrow. The guest rooms are ready for you." I said, walking towards the door.

"Wait," Ryan said, stopping me. I gave him a 'go-ahead' look.

"Where is she sleeping?" Ryan nervously asked.

"She is sleeping in my room," I said before walking off so I wouldn't have to hear what else he had to say.

I walked in the door to the pack house and headed straight for the stairs. I was almost there when I heard the most annoying voice.

"Hey, joshy woshy! I haven't seen you in a while. You been trying to avoid me?" Maria asked. Let's just say I did somethings and I regret them now.

"Maria leave me alone. I am not in the mood." I said. I was about to continue up the stairs when she spoke again.

"Oh, I see. You got a new one, huh? Well just know she will never be me." She said, putting her hands on her hips.

"You right. She will never be you. Do you know what you are? Maria, you are a pass around. Yep! I said it. Now if you don't get out my face and stop bothering me, there will be consequences." I said in my Alpha tone.

She flinched back and hung her head down. She looked at me with tears in her eyes then turned and walked away.

I turned around and continued walking up the stairs with my beautiful mate in my arms.

I entered my room and closed the door behind me. I walked over and laid her down on the bed carefully so I wouldn't wake her up. I looked over her body. Her caramel-colored skin had this glow to it. Her black curly hair sprawled out on the bed. She had long legs with a small waist. She was just perfect.

I stripped down to my boxers and turned the light out. I climbed up under the covers with Taylor. I pulled her to me, with my arm on her waist. She leaned in and sighed. I closed my eyes and I couldn't help but think of the question that's been in my head since I found out her secret:
