"What did you see?" Max asked.
"Nothing. He must have taken something and started hallucinating."
I had a feeling that not saying anything was a bad idea, but it was my love for her that stopped me. The nightmares she's been having are drenched in blood and wrapped in a cocoon of terror. If she knew what I saw, things could get worse for her. I couldn't let that happen to her. Besides, it could have been nothing and I imagined the whole thing. I imagined Billy outside of the mall earlier that day so I wouldn't be surprised.
I said good night and shuffled back to my trailer and let my head rummage through a thousand explanations as to what the hell I had seen. I have seen death everywhere I went, it was like it followed my every step. I'm familiar with the dead but every limb on Chrissy's body was broken, and her bleeding from every pocket in her body ripped into my gut. My legs grew shaky and weak, and I swallowed my stomach down every few seconds.
Since walking into Eddie's trailer, my nerves have been shot. I was in a perpetual state of fight or flight, the only difference was that they bleed into each other. I hadn't even known that was possible.

I changed my sleeping position a million times, huffing and groaning in discomfort as I threw my blanket off of me. I opened my eyes and sat up in my bed, pulling my legs into my chest. My eyelids were close to closing and my head felt like one hundred pounds. Images of Chrissy on the ceiling flooded my brain, then other dead bodies came to the forefront.
"ONE! IT'S EDDIE!" I heard from my front door.
I threw myself out of bed and snatched my jacket from the chair on the way to the door. When I opened it, Eddie was out of breath and with cuts all over his face.
"Holy shit, Eddie." I moved to the side and let him in. "Where have you been?!"
"You don't under- you won't believe me if I told you." He had sweat beads dripping down his face and neck, his eyes were wider than the moon and reader than the color itself.
"Trust and believe me when I tell you, you are wrong." I got him a cup of water and placed it down on the table "Try me."
"She started floating, One. In mid-air and..."
My ability to listen faded away when I heard what he called me. I stood slowly and backed away even slower. My throat tightened as I spoke. "Eddie, how do you know my real name?"
"Everyone calls you, One."
"Olivia! Everyone calls me Olivia."
The look of fear he once wore left his face. He looked at me through his eyebrows and smirked wickedly. He strolled to the kitchen counter and grabbed the knife from it holder.
"Caught me." He whispered.
His gentleness was followed by an ear-piercing laugh. He inched closer to me, eyeing me like prey. As soon as I saw his leg muscles tense, I cut for my room and slammed the door in his face. The trailer shook everything he struck the door with the kitchen knife.
