Y/N WATCHED AS HER GIRLFRIEND walked up the front steps of her guidance counselor's house. Max rang the doorbell, looking back at Y/N who gave her a look of reassurance. As Max turned back the door opened gently, revealing Max's counselor on the other side.

"Max. Hi." Mrs. Kelley greeted with her hand left on the door.

"I'm so sorry to bother you over break, but do you have a minute to talk?" Max questioned, fidgeting with her pockets.

"Um, yeah, of course." Mrs. Kelley hesitantly agreed, opening the door wider for her to enter. Glancing back for the last time, she entered the house with the door closing behind her.

"Okay. She's in." Steve noted, removing his arm which was previously resting on the window ledge of the car.

"I'm missing collarbones, not eyes." Dustin remarked, looking at Steve sarcastically. The car fell silent with everyone left to their thoughts and soon enough there was one thought that was prevalent enough to be said.

"So, we gonna talk about it?" Dustin started catching the other two's attention.

"Huh?" Y/N asked sitting up in her seat, leaning forward far enough to grab the headrest.

"Sorry, talk about what?" Steve restated while turning his face to Dustin.

"Your temporary insanity earlier today when you basically threw yourself at Nance?" Dustin recalled.

"That's not what happened." Steve corrected.

"Pretty sure that's what happened. It was public." Dustin gibed, moving his head for emphasis.

"There were a lot of witnesses," Y/N added teasingly.

"You're implying I still have a thing for Nance?" Steve chided in disbelief.

"No. I'm not implying, I'm stating." Dustin said, revising Steve's previous statement. "And, as it relates to your steadfast refusal to date Robin, it's pretty much the only logical explanation."

"Pretty sure Robin is focused on someone else." Y/N jumped in, attempting to explain. She was careful to not reveal her suspicions of Robin, for she knew how it felt to be wrongfully outed. ;)

"That's not the only one. And as for Nance, I was just trying to protect a friend." Steve stammered, trying to come up with an excuse. "A friend, shitbirds. Okay?" Steve repeated after noticing Y/N and Dustin's unconvinced Looks.

"Okay." Dustin shrugged, still not believing Steve.

"Don't wanna find her with her eyes sucked out of her skull by this Vecna creep." Steve added trying to back up his obvious lie.

"You're bright red in the face right now," Dustin smirked, pointing around his face.

"I'm not."

"You totally are Steven." Y/N teased with a satisfied grin on her face.

"I don't wanna talk about it. I should kick you out for instigating and you, I'll punch you so hard that your teeth will fall back out.

"Whoa," Y/N responded loudly, falling back into her seat.

"Too far." Dustin spoke, scolding Steve.

"Sorry." Steve apologized, sticking up his fist out to Dustin.
