A knock on the door woke me up and I blinked my eyes open, questioning where I was.I felt Josh's warm, bare chest under me, and when my mom walked in the bedroom my cheeks flashed a shade of deep pink.
I felt Josh's heartbeat under my ear, and I kept my eyes closed despite the presence of another person in the room."Bee, Josh, wake up." She whispered, and I blinked my eyes open. I immediately saw Josh's tanned skin under my face, and I wanted to sink right back into it.
"Hm?" Josh sleepily hummed, his palm moving slightly up my back.
"Bobbie your phones been going nuts downstairs, here." She put the phone on the nightstand, and I still tried to blink my eyes open.
I finally pulled myself off of Josh, and his hands trailed off of me. He wouldn't break contact until my legs were swung over the side of the bed and sat up.
My mom gave me a quick look, and I furrowed my brows at it.
"I'm sorry about the heat ya'll, you found the blankets right?" My mom was gripping a coffee mug and her phone was on her shoulder. I can tell she's gonna be on the phone a lot.
I pat the blankets that were draped over Josh, and he rubbed his eyes and sat up.
"G'morning." He gravelly said, his morning voice ringing through the air.
"Morning." I held a hand out towards my mom and asked for a sip of her coffee. She rolled her eyes but gave the mug to me anyway, and I took a small sip of the hot liquid before she walked back out the door.
I finally checked my phone, seeing a dozen or more texts and missed calls from Carrie.
"Oh my God." I said, immediately calling her back.
"What's happening?" Josh asked, moving to sit beside me.
I didn't answer, only waited for Carrie to pick up the phone.
"Hey! Carrie, are you okay? I didn't read anything you sent yet I just called you back, what's going on?"
"Oh! Everything's fine I was just being impatient. I decided to throw a last minute New Year's eve party tonight, you coming?"
I had the phone on speaker, and so I looked over at Josh.
"Yeah, definitely. Who's gonna be there?"
"Danny, Sam, Jake, Josh, you, and a bunch of people from school. You're with Josh right? Will you ask him? Danny said he didn't pick up the phone either."
"Oh, yeah." I looked over at Josh who nodded eagerly. "He wants to. And sorry, we're at my moms house and just woke up. When do you want us to be there?" I checked the time, it already being early afternoon.
"Like 6? It doesn't really matter." Carrie stated, and I nodded to myself.
"Yeah, I'm excited. I'll see you then?"
"See you then, bye bye."
I put my phone down, and rubbed the last bit of sleep out of my eye.
"What time is it?" Josh asked me.
"12:36." I told him, and he raised his eyebrows.
