Now playing Beyoncè - Partition

Two weeks later

Hoseok stood by the grand window of his penthouse suite, gazing out over the bustling city of Toronto. The newly opened Bangtan enterprise branch had been a strategic move, a pristine cover for their more nefarious activities. The legitimate business ventures masked the money laundering operations, making it nearly impossible for authorities to connect the dots.

The air was thick with the scent of fresh paint and new furniture, mingling with the faint aroma of espresso from the kitchen where a state-of-the-art coffee machine hummed softly. Hoseok savored the moment, knowing each passing day solidified their stronghold on the international market.

A sharp knock on the door broke his reverie. One of his men, dressed in a crisp black suit, entered and approached him with a respectful nod.

"Mr. Jung, you have a mail," he said, holding out a cream-colored envelope.

Hoseok arched an eyebrow, intrigued. He took the envelope and inspected it. There was no sender's address, only his name scrawled in elegant cursive. He grabbed a pen from the desk, sliding it under the flap to break the seal. The envelope gave way with a crisp tear, revealing a thick, embossed card inside.

"Hmm, it's an invitation," Hoseok murmured to himself, pulling out the invitation

Hoseok's mind raced as he read the invitation. The Elite Society was known for its exclusivity, a gathering of powerful individuals who wielded influence in both legitimate and underground circles. Attending such an event could open doors to new alliances and opportunities, furthering their reach and securing more avenues for their operations.

He turned the card over, noting a small, handwritten note at the bottom:

Mr. Jung, your presence is requested, and you are allowed a plus one.

A smile tugged at the corners of his lips. This invitation was an opportunity not to be missed. He walked over to his desk and picked up his phone, dialing the number of his most trusted confidant.

Hoseok quickly dialed the numbers of his fellow members Namjoon, Taehyung, Seokjin, Jimin, Yoongi, and Jungkook, asking if they had also received the invitation. As expected, they all had, each of them equally intrigued and cautious about the opportunity.

After hanging up, Hoseok pondered his options for a plus one. He immediately thought of Y/N. She had been staying at their house, allowed a brief reprieve for a sister reunion. It was time to bring her back into his presence. Their relationship was complex and undefined; she wasn't his, yet she belonged to him in a sense. He treated her well, and while she wasn't exactly a prisoner, there was an unspoken understanding of her position in his life.

Hoseok picked up his phone again and dialed Y/N's number. She answered after a few rings, her voice soft and slightly hesitant.

"Hello?"

"Y/N, it's Hoseok. I have an event in four days. The Elite Society. I want you to come with me."

There was a pause, and Hoseok could almost hear her thinking. She knew better than to refuse him outright. Their relationship was based on a delicate balance of power and subtle affection. He had been kind to her, providing her with a life of luxury and protection, but she knew the consequences of defiance.

"Okay," she finally replied. "I'll come."

"Good," Hoseok said, satisfaction evident in his voice. "I'll have a car pick you up. Be ready."

He hung up the phone and returned to the window, his mind already working through the potential outcomes of the upcoming event. Y/N's presence would be a statement, and he needed to ensure she was prepared for the high-stakes environment of the Elite Society gathering.
