Chloe's POV :
In the Hyland's Ferrari, Paige rolls the window down and takes a deep breath. We had just finished eating at Shoshone Shore's. "What happened back there was 'sane!" She howls. "Yeah." I sigh. Pulling out my phone, I try to stick in a conversation between me and Nia.
ChlobirdLuk33 : Hey Nia
Dazzle_Nia : 'Sup Chloe
ChlobirdLuk33 : So er, what exactly happened back at Shoshone's ?
Dazzle_Nia : Oh! That! Well Mackenzie was just not even paying attention when a poor waitress named Emma accidentally spilled a basket of silverware, and tripped over in the too-big heels she was wearing.
I couldn't believe what Nia was saying. Why was she acting so rude towards Mackenzie?
ChlobirdLuk33 : Ok, thanks for clearing that up.
Dazzle_Nia : No problem. Don't tell her this, but Lucas thinks she's a total brat.
At this, I slammed my phone shut, half angry with Nia, half sad for Mackenzie. Lucas is Mackenzie's three-month boyfriend, also a former dancer at CADC. Maddie disapproves of that, but she knows Lucas means well. "What?" Paige calls out from the backseat. "Read this." I shove my phone at her as her eyes widened at every word. Brooke was looking over her shoulder, almost the same reaction. "Jeez." Paige mumbled, still in shock. Mom and Kelly will still chatting away about taxes and coupons. "See! I told you Kel! You see, JCPenny has wonderful 20 dollar off coupons every once in a while, much better than 20 percent off coupons, because it all depends on the price." Mom wags her finger as Kelly nods. Kelly then looks into the mirror, checking up on us. "Girls, we're almost there, okay?" We don't reply.
Kendall's POV :
Ryleigh stood outside between the tall, slender palm tree and hotel pool. Her hourglass figure attracted the hot surfers behind the beach house fence. However, she didn't seem to notice but spotted me instead. "K!" She shouted, jogging
up to me. "Charlotte's in the house, we were just thinking about the huge party we're going to throw when Mom's going shopping with Melissa." A mischievous, playful grin extended across her high, flushed cheekbones. "No!" I shrieked. Her face lost it's vibrant color and frowned at me. "Whatever. I was going to ask you to invite your little dancer friends, but never mind." She turned on her heel and strode away from me, nose high in the air. A minute later she had her arm slung around the other side of the fence, talking to some slightly nervous boys. She kept twirling her lengthy chestnut hair and beckoning towards her already golden tan skin. I scowled and walked back into the house, hopping onto a swivel stool by the kitchen island. My phone stood against a tissue box a foot away from me. Mackenzie and Maddie went home not too long ago, they came to check out the place and hung out for a bit. Maddie's glamorous face brightened on my phone screen, followed by a chorus of Elastic Heart. Frightened by the sudden noise, I scrambled to pick it up. With a heavy pant, I answered. "Hello?" "Hey K, listen, Mackenize's really mad about Nia right now. She met a friend at the pool and she told her the big thing." I drew in a rather sharp breath. "What?" I was shocked at this surprise. A thing we swore never to lay a finger upon, just burst out to a stranger. "Maddie! Who is this girl?" "Well, she seems nice, honestly,...." "Who?" I snapped. "Er, her name's Beattie. Beattie Jones." At this, I almost dropped my phone. "BEATTIE?" I roared into the phone. "I know you've had a bad history with her, but give it a rest." "GIVE IT A REST!" I laughed. Beattie Bellatrix Jones was my mortal enemy in 4th grade. As mean as you could get. I hung up immediately to take it all in. The nastiest girl you could imagine, always spreading gossip. And now my deepest secret is within her boundaries.
