Chapter five

I realized Achilles wasn't wrong about not playing our instruments, Chiron simply explained the history of music.

I turned to see Briseis was taking note writing every word Chiron said.

Iphigenia was humming and kicking her feet under the desk.

Deidamia was on her phone seeming completely uninterested in the lesson.

I turn next to me and Achilles looks bored, He makes eye contact with me and winks at me.

I was a bit confused but turned away to look at Chiron, I heard shuffling and turned back to Achilles and saw he was gone.

I looked around to see if he moved but I didn't see him. I then felt something on my ankle; I looked down to see Achilles under my desk holding my ankles.

I playfully kicked my my foot trying to get him to let go but instead he pulled me down with him and I slid out of my chair and landed next to him.

Chiron stopped teaching and I could hear Iphigenia laughing behind.

Achilles and I started laughing along with her

Chiron just rolled his eyes with a smile on his face and helped us up to our feet.

"I suppose we can end our lesson here" Chiron smiled

"Your all dismissed" He said and everyone grabbed their instruments and walked out but I stopped when I heard Chiron call my name

I walked to him and he pulled out a thick folder.

"Well since everyone seems to want you on the student council we can skip the election and debate part; However you do need to reach a certain qualification in order to be on the council" He told me as he handed me the thick folder

"You need to have at least at B in all your classes" He explained to me

I nodded; I was already passing all my classes with at least a B

"Your also required by the school to join the band; so you'll no longer be in music we're meeting here for now on every Saturday and Sunday" He explained to me

I nodded showing I understood

"No this next one is only permitted to you" He said and he seems slightly nervous to tell me

"Since you're part of our troubled youth program you need to pay a 500 dollars admission fee" He told me awkwardly

"Why?" I asked shocked about the high price

"Because your not meant to be a regular student you're met for rehabilitation; you're basically supposed to be a prisoner that sometimes gets to read so now you need to pay the 500 dollars a month to keep you at this school" Chiron explained to me

"Wait, I was attending the school for free?" I asked shocked holding the folder close to my chest

"No since we're were part of the trouble youth program our school provides technically your tuition was being paid by the state as a way to rehabilitate you" Chiron explained

"Trouble you students are not allowed to be on student council so we would have to remove you from the trouble use department and file you as a regular student" Chiron finished

"Oh" I said calmly

This was good, I didn't deserve to be in the troubled youth program. I wasn't a danger to anyone. It would be good to know that I could be a regular student and be treated like an equal.

I wasn't too concerned with the $500 per month; the private schools father tried to get me in before it cost way more so they would be happy to know it wouldn't be that expensive.

I said thank you and walked out and saw Achilles, Briseis, Iphigenia, and Dementia outside.

Dementia was talking to Achilles but when he saw me he smiled and waved to me to come closer to him.

"Hey we're all about to get ice cream" He told me

"All of us?" I asked

"Yeah it's a tradition after class we go to Artemis sweet treats" Iphigenia explained sweetly

"Oh sounds good" I nodded and we all began walking to the ice cream shop
