Keya opened her eyes to the golden sun's rays seeping through glass, balcony doors. She took in a deep breath and felt skin under the palm of her hand. She looked and there was the pale torso of Prince Loki.
"Morning, love." his husky morning voice sent a chill down her spine. She looked up and met his emerald eyes and a gentle smile. She adjusted herself to lay her head on his shoulder, his arm wrapping around her shoulders. They laid there in silence for a while before a knock at the door made Loki sigh in annoyance.
"What?" he asked.
"Brother, are you awake?" I could hear the annoyance grow as he rolled his eyes.
"No, Thor. I'm still asleep. Of course I'm awake! What do you want?"
"You promised that we would go for a ride with Lady Sif and the warriors three."
"I'm no longer interested. Leave me to rest."
"Oh come on, brother! You could use some time with your old friends. It'll cheer you up."
"You mean your friends. Go ahead without me."
"But Loki-" He groaned and stood from the bed. He motioned for Keya to wait as he tied his black and green silk robe around his body and he walked outside his room.
"Thor, I am still exhausted and I want to sleep. Leave me alone."
"Do you have a maiden in there? Is that why you don't want to go?" Loki sighed and Keya couldn't help but quietly chuckle.
"Thor, who I have in my room is my own business. Now leave!"
"But-" Loki came back into the room and slammed the door in his brother's face. He leaned against the door and closed his eyes with a sigh when he heard Thor walk off.
"Now do you see why I struggle?" Keya nodded with an amused smile still on her face. "What is that face?"
"Nothing." She straightened the silk sheets over her chest as Loki raised an eyebrow.
"You found that conversation amusing, didn't you?"
"I'm not sure what you mean." Keya's smile grew and she playfully bit her lower lip. "Come back to bed, Loki." She patted the bed next to her and he rolled his eyes and made his way back to the bed. He took off his robe and tossed it onto the bed before he crawled back in himself. He sat with his back against the headboard and he pulled the covers to his waist. Keya grabbed his robe and wrapped it around her torso before she laid against his shoulder, as he wrapped his arm around her.
"Do you want to start reading?" Loki asked her. She looked into his emerald eyes.
"Read it to me." She said as he smiled and reached for the book he brought last night.
"Oh, I brought the wrong book. This is Shakespeare."
"What is that?"
"He's a playwrite. He also writes poetry. This is one of his poetry books."
"That'll do perfectly." Keya smiled as she snuggled deeper into Loki's warm embrace.
"Alright then." He cleared his throat as he opened the book.
"My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun;
Coral is far more red than her lips' red;
If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun;
If hares be wires, brown wires grow on her head.
I have seen roses damask'd, red and white,
But no such roses see I in her cheeks;
