It was weird, when she woke up that morning Carol thought that it would be another normal day. She was going to be put through a simple training exercise then that was it. Carol never once thought that something like this would happen. Of course who would think that they would be saved from a crashing jet by a teenage boy that could actually fly. That's just to unbelievable, yet here she is being carried to safety by said flying boy.
The two of them fly for a little bit before Clark could see the small town in the distance. Of course with his vision that wasn't hard to do, Carol on the other hand still couldn't really see the town from where she was at. To her it was just a small dot in the distance that she paid no mind to. That is until Clark told her it was where they were heading.Clark: there, that's the town I was telling you about.
Looking hard Carol finally saw the small dot that was the town. She was somewhat afraid to ask how he knew that given how far away the dot was. Her curiosity was however stronger then her fear. That combined with the strange sense of ease that she had around the boy. So despite her previous inclination to stay quiet she asked.
Carol: how do you know?
It was a simple question Carol had to admit but she felt it was the right one to ask.
Clark: well with my super hearing I can tell that it's a town, a small one though and with my super vision I can see that it's a small town as well.
Carol didn't know what to think about all of this. It all just seemed to incredible. But she didn't know what was even more incredible. The fact that this teenage boy had superpowers, or the fact that he was so nonchalant about it.
Carol: how can you be so calm about all this?
Clark: what do you mean?
Carol: well for starters you're flying, then there's the fact that you calmly claim you have super hearing and vision.
Clark: so?
Carol: so, so most kids you're age, hell most anyone wouldn't be able to keep calm about having superpowers like you are right now. So how are you staying so calm about it?
Clark: funny.
Carol knitted her eyebrows in confusion.
Carol: what's funny?
Clark: I just always figured that when someone was going to ask about my powers it would be how I got them that's all.
Carol: well I guess that would be the better question.
Carol then looked at Clark with a questioning look that he didn't fail to miss.
Clark: sorry I can't tell you about the origin of my powers, that info needs to be kept close for now. Only a handful know it at the moment. Of course I don't even know the full story myself.
Carol looked a little disappointed at his response.
Clark: as for your other question, I guess sense I've had my powers for so long that it doesn't surprise me anymore.
Carol just nodded as a response Clark's answer to her question. She then remand quit for the rest of the flight to the little town which wasn't that long. Even flying as slow as Clark was they still reached it in no time.
Landing just outside the town and out of sight from everyone Clark finally put Carol down. She wobbled for a second feeling dizzy from the whole experience but quickly regained her composure. She then stood up to her full hight before turning to face Clark.Carol: well I guess I should properly thank you for saving my life.
Clark: you don't have to do that, I was only trying to help.
