chapter nineteen

(Y/n) wasted no time, immediately embracing the person in his arms. "H-Holy shit, you're back, you're actually back." The other didn't hesitate to wrap his arms around (Y/n), taking a whiff of his scent, clearly missing his presence.

"Yeah, I'm back (N/n)." The two held each other for a while before letting go, now holding hands. "I'm sorry I couldn't visit as often, so much shit happened while you were gone with my dad and ex and-" "There you go apologizing like before. It's fine, I'm just happy to be with you finally!"

The two spoke for a while, laughing and catching up after so long. The blonde stared at (Y/n), noticing his gentle smile, his eyes had a soft gaze towards Kazutora as the two laughed with each other.

'I've never seen (Y/n) kun so happy, is Kazutora a big part of his life? B-But, he's our enemy!'

Takemichi, who realized he was being forgotten, stared at the two before faking a cough, bringing the attention to him. "Oh yeah, forgot about you. Welp anyways, let's get going! Tell me all that's happened (N/n)!" Kazutora exclaimed before dragging (Y/n) with him, leaving Takemichi behind once again.

"Then, finally we got the papers and I became their authorized brother. My father was arrested shortly after." (Y/n) finished off, Kazutora paying close attention to his words as they walked, still holding hands.

"Damn, I'm glad your disgusting dad is finally in jail. Never liked him, to be honest."  "Haha, I don't think anyone did. Oh, speaking of which, you're free tomorrow right? I can introduce you to the kids."

"Mhm, seems good to me! Oh, here we are." "Now that I think about it, you never told me where you were taking us." (Y/n) stated as he went over the tape in front of the abandoned arcade, which of course Kazutora helped with. 

"I didn't mention it? We're at Valhalla's hideout!" The boy froze, making eye contact with Takemichi as they slowly went in, immediately being hit with Valhalla's tense vibe.

People circled around a part of the room, Kazutora guiding them towards it. Loud, crunching noises were heard at the center, revealing Baji on top of Chifuyu, constantly punching his bloody face.

(Y/n)'s lips quivered, the scene reminding him of his 14th birthday incident. "...Tora, what's going on?" "It's a test of faith, to test Baji's belief in our group. It's like changing religions, you need to show resolve."

With his fists and face stained with Chifuyu's blood, Baji stood up huffing, turning to his side. "Is this enough for ya, Hanma? Ya gonna let me into Valhalla now?" 

Hanma looked up with a smirk, satisfied with Baji's doing, others around were surprised with Baji. "Damn, and that dude's been with ya forever." "Surprised you went that far."

The tall boy noticed Kazutora and the two others before greeting them, slowly walking up to them. "You ready?" "Yep, this is Hanagaki Takemichi and (L/n) (Y/n)-" "I already know (Y/n), no need for the introduction. <3"

He held (Y/n)'s chin, raising it up to meet his eyes. Hanma's eyes wandered to (Y/n)'s lips, the taller unconsciously licking his own. "I knew we'd see each other again soon, darling. Thanks for the lovely gift, Kazutora." His thumb soon caressed (Y/n)'s lips, and the boy immediately swatted Hanma's hands away with disgust.

"Haha, I certainly didn't bring any gifts for you." Kazutora, with a forced chuckle, harshly glared at Hanma, "And you better not touch him or call him any pet names again, yeah?"

Takemichi sweatdropped at the two fighting over the boy. 'W-What is this love triangle?! No not even, (Y/n) kun has a whole harem!' As the two continued their staring contest, (Y/n) quietly walked past them, crouching down to check Chifuyu's condition.

"(Y/n)....?" (Y/n)'s heart ached for a moment. Chifuyu's voice sounded exactly like Mido's on his 14th birthday. Shaking away the feeling, he quietly spoke, "When I said I wanted to see you again soon, I certainly didn't think it'd be like this. Just pretend you're unconscious until we get out of here, 'kay?" Taking out a small piece of paper, he took his pencil from the morning and quickly wrote a note before placing it in his pocket for later.

He then carefully carried the boy on his back, getting up as everyone's eyes were now on him and Takemichi.

'I didn't want any stains, especially someone else's blood, on this cardigan.  It hasn't even been that long since I bought it. God, can you even wash bloodstains off beige clothing?'

Takemichi was then pushed to the center next to (Y/n) as the Valhalla members chanted, "Kill them! Kill them! Kill them!" They continued until Hanma rose his hand up, silencing them immediately. 'God, I want to get out of here. I hate being in such compacted, shitty places.'

"One of Toman's founding members and its First Division Captain, Baji Keisuke, says he wants to leave Toman and wishes to join Valhalla! Having Baji join us will be a huge help at our plan of destroying Toman." Hanma loudly announced, the Valhalla members whispering to each other, debating whether the news was a good or bad one. The said boy walked to the front as (Y/n) swiftly slid the piece of paper into Baji's pockets.

"But first, we gotta make sure of something since he might be a Toman spy! That's why we got Kazutora here to prepare a witness for us! Oh, and we got (Y/n) as our little bonus of course. <3 Now then, we will now summon the witness!"

"Hanagaki Takemichi." The blonde flinched, looking up at Hanma. "Y-Yes?" (Y/n) sweatdropped at his immediate obedience, deciding to stay quiet. 'You idiot, you don't just reply to the enemy right away. Then again, this is Michi we're talking about. Boy looks like he's about to piss his pants.'

"What did Baji here say at the last Toman gathering?" "I- Uh, he said that he was going to Valhalla, and Toman was his enemy." Hanma hummed, turning his gaze to Kazutora, who simply stood with his smile. "What do ya think, Kazutora?"

"I mean, we did do a test of faith and summon a witness. That's probably good enough ain't it? Baji's gonna be useful to our forces, and he knows a lot more of what's been going inside of Toman since I've been gone. He's definitely worth bringing into Valhalla." 

Kazutora looked at Baji, giving him a look, "You sure about this Baji. We're gonna crush Toman...and kill Mikey." "...Yeah, I'll help ya out, Kazutora."

(Y/n) stared at the boy across from him with uncertainty, noticing his stiffness. 'He's too stiff for being serious about this. He definitely has some other motive from joining Valhalla, and I'll make him tell me what it is no matter what.'

"Starting today, Baji Keisuke is an official member of Valhalla!" The members began screaming, celebrating for their newest member as Baji kept his gaze on (Y/n), who also stared at him as he mouthed 'pocket' to him, making hidden hand gestures. Getting the message, Baji rummaged in his pocket before taking out the note, reading it before anyone could notice.

you. me. musashi shrine. tomorrow midnight. you have no choice.
