Alex and Clover, led by May and a few guards, walked out of a tunnel, arriving at a private lodging.
The agent from the Spies Incorporated agency, brought Saraline and Prime Minister Caleb to this place on Miss May's orders. It was decided that they get away to a more recluse area of the city to reduce the risk of attacks.
The entire building was under high security, with guards and WOOHP agents monitoring every corner.
Alex even spotted four Spies Incorporated agents in their body armor, conversing with one another by the entrance of the building.
"Hmm, Jerry never told us about any agency called Spies Incorporated," Alex mumbled, looking each of them over. "but these guys seem really legit."
"I'm sure Mr. Lewis had his reasons for that," Miss May replied. "Besides, they prefer to stay hidden from the general public. Think of them as our extra special military and enforcement officers."
Once they got inside, Miss May ordered the guards to depart. She opened the door to a room and gestured at Alex and Clover.
"We can talk more in here."
The room was a personal reading chamber, with few tables and a number of shelves filled with books. There was even a desktop system at a corner, right next to the backdoor.
They sat down at the closest table to them, and for a moment Miss May just looked at them and closed her eyes.
It was a really long moment.
There was suddenly a light knock on the backdoor of the room.
"Come in, dear," said May.
Kennedy stepped into the room, and behind him was Sam, who supported Saraline as she gingerly walked into the room with a smile.
"Sam! Saraline!" Alex exclaimed. "Both of you are okay!"
"Yeah, but I'm still feeling a bit drowsy though," said Sam. "Kennedy told us everything that happened, so I had to come to meet Miss May when you arrived."
"Me too. And I'm feeling better, despite my back being very sore," said Saraline, her smile fading. "but I can't really say the same for my dad."
"We're really sorry about what happened to him," said Clover.
Kennedy had a solemn look as he comforted Saraline, wrapping his arm around her.
"It's fine, really. I'm just glad he's recovering alright," said Saraline. "Anyway, I believe Miss May wants to say something to us."
Kennedy, Saraline and Sam took their seats.
"Yes. There was a reason why you girls were assigned this mission by Mr. Lewis," May sighed. She looked up at Sam, Alex and Clover, taking time to stare each of them in the eye. "It's because I know how good each of you are, and how well you've done on your previous exploits."
"Thanks, but I get the feeling that's not all you want to say," said Sam.
"Miss May has a plan, a way to apprehend the culprit behind the attacks on Mr. Caleb," Kennedy stated. "and we would like to have you girls on board as quickly as possible."
"That's honestly great news. But what about Spies Incorporated?" Clover questioned. "I'd expect them to be in on this as well."
"Trust me, they are," Kennedy smirked. "But we'd like to have more hands on the job."
"Plus, the ones with us are field agents. They're more of police officers than actual spies," Miss May elaborated. "That's why we need you."
"You've got us," Sam answered. "Now let's discuss the plan, miss."
