The Lodge,
Canberra, F.C.T.
10:06 am.A press conference was holding outside the official residence of The Prime Minister, with the whole of Australia tuned in.
They were all curious to know how their Prime Minister was faring- if he was alright.
News of a vicious attack at the private lodging, where he had been residing while recovering from an injury sustained from a previous attack hadn't helped things, though the perpetrator had finally been apprehended.
It took a while of anxious waiting and brilliant crowd control by the guards before the waiting bystanders and press had something to cheer about- and something to show the Australian territory through their live coverages.
Caleb Bairstow, The Prime Minister of Australia walked out of The Lodge, Mr. Peller, the veteran bodyguard on his right and his personal assistant, May Richie on his left.
Cameras flashed as pictures were taken, providing evidence to alleviate the worries and fears of the masses that waited for the next day's morning paper concerning the news.
Australia's Prime Minister was doing fine and well. He was alive, but still had to make his speech.
Finally on the podium, Caleb Bairstow took a moment to look at the crowd, a big smile on his face. "Hahaha- thank you all for the great reception," said Prime Minister Caleb Bairstow. "As you can all see, I am alive and well. And I only have God to thank- and my excellent security team."
He raised a hand, signalling the crowd of citizens to withhold their applause.
"We lost some good men when we were attacked yesterday, unfortunately and that is my greatest regret," said Caleb Bairstow. "They defended me with their lives, which were taken from them by a ruthless man- their deaths will not be swept aside!"
Inside the official residential building of the prime minister- Sam, Alex and Clover, now in their guard uniforms beside Kennedy looked on as the man gave his speech.
Saraline, Wesley and Nicole were there as well.
"Well," Saraline started, hugging Kennedy's arm. "I'm so glad we got out of that ordeal- it was so scary!"
"Yes!" said Clover, suddenly bursting into tears and crying out loudly. "That guy clearly doesn't know how to treat ladies. He put me in a dark cold apartment- Oh, my hair was so messed up, it was disgusting!"
Sam and Alex sighed heavily, while the others laughed at Clover's statement.
"So- you guys are probably going back to your base after the speech?" asked Nicole. "Maybe we can meet up again sometime. You girls seem like really cool people to hang with."
"Well, more like country," said Sam. "We're actually not from around here- We're Americans!"
"Really?!" Wesley made a look of surprise. "Now that you mention it, I should have been able to tell by the accent."
"So that means we won't see you girls again?" asked Saraline, a little downcast.
Sam, Alex and Clover gazed at one another, unsure of what to say.
"Er, we might- could never tell what happens next in this world," said Alex. "It was nice meeting you though...All of you."
Saraline let go of Kennedy, stretching out a hand at the Alex who shook it firmly. She shook Sam and hugged Clover.
"I think we all feel the same," said Kennedy with a smile. He put his arms around Saraline, kissing her on the side of the head. "Come on, let's go talk about your preparations for the Australian Athletics Championships this year- I might be able to show up for the first qualifying rounds after all!"
