Sol A's hand paused and hovered just shy of gripping the door handle...

Before she could grasp it, her other arm and body were tugged away from the door. She was in Joon Hwi's arms, being carried away and through a dark hallway. She was frozen at first going along with being dragged into the inner part of the house. Sol A couldn't comprehend for a moment what was happening. Her primal instinct kicked in, though, as she fought against the man she once knew.

He whispered in her ear, as he pleaded with her and covered her mouth, "Quiet. Shhh."

Sol A couldn't fight him off. Joon Hwi's training had made him stronger than she remembered, or was it that he was no longer gentle with her because he now saw her as a threat? Her mind swarmed as he pulled her down the stairs into the basement of his Uncle's home. Part of her wanted to cry.

Dear God, is he going to kill me? This isn't the man I know. What happened to the man I love? What the hell is he going to do to me?

She watched as Joon Hwi's hand punched a security code into a panel, disarming a hidden door. The mysterious wall in front of them, opened. He fought to push her inside as her feet stopped them both from entering a pitch black dungeon.

"Go dammit! Get in!" Joon Hwi cried as he picked her body up off the floor, entering the dark room together and sealed the door shut.

Inside, he released her. Sol A remained at a distance, defaulting to a verbal assault, "You can't do this to me! Please don't do this to me!"

Joon Hwi rose up, putting his hand over her mouth again as he pushed her body up against a wall. "Shhh! If you're going to talk, whisper." They were close enough to kiss. Months had gone by since she had embraced Joon Hwi and had been this close to him. Part of her, even given what had just happened, wanted to take his hand away from her mouth and press her lips to his. But she didn't. Her attention was thwarted elsewhere.

Next to them, Joon Hwi tapped a screen that switched on, shedding light on the darkness. Sol A turned her head to look. The screen was broken into 9 different screens all monitoring outside and inside portions of the home. Unknown men in suits scattered about the house, turning it upside down. Outside a few men stood guard, smoking cigarettes as if they were having a casual visit.

"We need to get out of here."

Sol A finally saw the man she loved. She felt horrible. How could she have misconstrued his actions as trying to harm her.

Joon Hwi softly laughed a bit, "As always, you fight first and ask questions later."

"You could have said something."

"I'm not going to talk in a situation where we need to be quiet."

Sol A knew he was right. She showed him the loyalty she had left in him. She momentarily showed Joon Hwi, she no longer trusted him. Both of them knew there wasn't an automatic fix to their dilemma other than the one that honed in on their current location.

"Is there a way out of here?"

Joon Hwi was hesitant to ask, "Will you follow me? Or will you go with them?"

The question hurt Sol A, but she supposed it was valid given her reaction to him. They were both hurting and hanging onto their relationship by a thread. Even before being pulled into the darkness, she was ready to leave. But she was glad she wasn't given the opportunity to actually pull the handle on that door. She wouldn't be an accessory to Joon Hwi's crime nor would she be guilty by association, either.

"From this moment on, I'm representing you. If I go with you..."

Sol A wasn't given a chance to finish. She was whisked away into another secret room that led into a tunnel system. Guided by Joon Hwi's cell phone light, they slowly crept through a cement squared tube.

"What is this place?" Sol A was completely surprised such a place existed.

"My Uncle prosecuted a lot of criminals. He was always paranoid, thinking one of them would show up at his house...hurt his family...attempt to kill him one day."

It made sense to Sol A. Prosecutors probably do live in fear of the criminals they put away and change their lives. There's many with power and connections that will do anything to keep it. As she followed Joon Hwi through the murky and dingy tunnel, he grabbed her hand to guide her over a break in the crumbling cement. The warmth of his hand in the cold winter breathed life back into her.

Joon Hwi laughed, "Ironic that my Uncle was killed by someone he held secrets for." He breathed heavily, "I don't want to succumb to the same fate as him...I just wanted to find my mother. I just thought I'd be able to use this gift to find my mother so I could finally find out if my uncle really was my father."
