Moo-won parted the door hearing the commotion inside. He and Tae-in poked their heads through the small crack to make sure Min-joo was able to handle whoever was having an emotional breakdown.

Min-joo gave the opening door a side eye. She shook her head not to come in and nodded; she was okay. Min-joo mouthed, It's Geon-woo.

Moo-won quietly shut the door. Geon-woo had returned instead of Ara. Moo-won was mildly surprised but pleased that Geon-woo had found a way to push through instead of the girl. Moo-won felt it was significant but wouldn't bother his detective now. Today, he needed time and space. He and Tae-in stood outside in the hallway for just a moment more. Moo-won felt the weight of his guilt. Tae-in had wanted to evoke Geon-woo's alters without his permission years ago as part of his deep undercover operation. Had Moo-won not intercepted the journals, he would have been blind-sided by all of this. When he let Tae-in fake his death, he hadn't imagined what Tae-in planned. It was as if Tae-in knew he was injected with the virus and purposely walked into one of the Ghost operative's traps so that he could move his own chess piece forward. Moo-won never told Tae-in he was the one to find the box of journals. He let Tae-in believe that Geon-woo had received the package upon his discharge from the hospital and waited for the call from Moo-won he'd received just the other day. He looked up at Tae-in, wondering—

"Did you ever care about Geon-woo?" Moo-won assumed the seedy otherworldly stunts Tae-in enjoyed while living the part after receiving the list of names he brought to the team meeting. Some were familiar and had been suspected of vile things. Now, with Tae-hee alive, Moo-won was ever more curious if Tae-in had covertly fooled all to continue lawfully dwelling within the lifestyle he entertained. What Moo-won was sure of now was Tae-in could keep many secrets.

Tae-in wasn't allowed to answer. Moo-won left the hallway with an order, "Let's get to headquarters. Hand over your information to Deok-ho. After that...I have somewhere I need to be, and you can return here; relieve Min-joo for a while and get more info from Joon-hwi."

Moo-won descended the stairs without looking back at Tae-in to follow. After a moment, he did. Although, Moo-won thought there'd be some ability to control Geon-woo by being one to unleash it. They were all at the mercy of Geon-woo's mind and how well he could handle it. All they could do was sit back and watch. He was incredibly sorry, but he couldn't loiter; he had an investigation underway and Sang-woo to meet at Geon-woo's old apartment. If the man had decided to become an informant, that is. He'd leave Min-joo to handle Geon-woo and trust that Joon-hwi would be some help to her.

After a full-day at the office, Moo-won headed over to meet Sang-woo. On Moo-won's way over to Geon-woo's old rooftop apartment, he was horribly uneasy. There were too many variables and none of them certain. Just before he pulled into an empty spot up above the apartment further away to get a bird's eye view, he shut off his headlights, coasting in complete darkness. He got out the team's military grade night vision thermal imaging to search for any bodies surveying the place. It was a nice upgrade to ensure any operation they were staking out wasn't a stake out on them. The Ghost operation had changed many of their methods; one being, a created internal access to Geon-woo's rooftop house.

They'd purchased an apartment on the top floor and made an access point from the living room to the interior of Geon-woo's apartment with a pulldown attic stairway. It was a precaution since the exterior stairway exposed whoever was visiting the rooftop apartment. The internal access point was for Geon-woo and any other secret meetings within the benign walls that had been made to look like transient Airbnb rental. Any remnants of Geon-woo or Tae-hee were moved long ago to a closet in the safehouse.

Moo-won spotted two passengers in a vehicle parked just down below him just up the street with a clear view of the side stairway leading to the rooftop. The investment in the night vision had once again paid off. He switched to the thermal mode, looking for heat signatures inside the rooftop apartment. Inside, he caught a tall, thin body moving around within the darkness through a window before it disappeared. Sang-woo was there. However, Moo-won was concerned he may have come with a listening device. He'd need to get a feel for why he showed up.
