Coming this weekend...
Disclaimer: Instead of writing two different Kim Beom fan fics, I'm going to do a crossover Hidden Identity & Law School from this point on because I don't have time for both but want to write both. Yet, I also didn't want to ruin either storylines and it took a bit of time, but found a way not to.
The new summary of this story revolves around taking the mystery around Han Joon Hwi's parents and Cha Geon-woo not having really any family except for a mother who died, and writing their backstory and story as separated identical twins. In this chapter, Hidden Identity's undercover Team 5 gets involved in the NK border incident under Blue House/President's orders to locate Han Joon Hwi, and find out who is behind the people after Han Joon Hwi by utilizing Cha Geon Woo as a decoy.
CHAPTER 4
Outside the tunnel system, Professor Yang Jong-hoon cautiously waited in his car concealed by a large tree and stooped down in the driver's seat. He received an ominous text from Sol A that if he were alright with being an accomplice, she and Joon-hwi needed to be picked up. His eyes darted from one rearview mirror to the next; and then out the front and passenger windows. It wasn't too long before he saw two shadows come up over the hill from an empty plot of land and storm drain out of the passenger window. He didn't move, at first, making sure it was them. Slowly, Professor Yang popped up to get a better look and make sure there was no one behind them.
Joon-hwi climbed up the steep drop off out of the storm drain, and pulled Sol A up and onto the street. Professor Yang unlocked the doors with a push of the button, reached over and opened the passenger door.
"You two better have a good reason for running away—"
Joon-hwi pushed Sol A into the passenger seat, interrupting Professor Yang. "Take Sol A home. Or...take her to your home. Somewhere safe."
"What? No! Where are you going?" Sol A tried to get out, but Joon-hwi held her back.
"Joon-hwi? Get in and whatever—"
"Just go! Keep her safe. If I go with you and they pull you over...I don't know what they'll do to you both. If they do without me—you can, at least, just say you were at my house...waiting for me and ran because you didn't know who was breaking into the house...you were just waiting for me to come home, and I never did."
Joon-hwi slammed the door on Sol A. He loved her despite being haunted by her expression earlier. He wanted to stay with her, but he knew this was the best way...maybe even the only way he could keep her safe, for now.
The door shut in Sol A's face and silenced her into shock. She couldn't believe that he was leaving her after they'd just reconnected again. She couldn't believe he wouldn't take her help, either. Sol A was briefed of everything Joon-hwi could tell her during their journey through the tunnels. She yelled at him through the passenger window glass, "How could you tell me everything and just expect me not to fight for you?" She turned to Professor Yang , pleading. "Change his mind. We have to protect him! He has nothing--" She quickly thought for a moment, "He hadn't been discharged, yet...Joon-hwi was under orders—it was an order!" Sol A was about to continue her argument when she stopped herself thinking to herself—But he made the decision alone to blast the mountain instead of sending his unit in. She fell silent again.
Professor Yang had no idea what is argument should be to get Joon-hwi to listen. They were all highly emotional, but he got out of the car and rushed to catch him.
"Joon-hwi, let's talk about whatever it is. Whatever it is, we'll figure it out together—"
Joon-hwi turned to Professor Yang, scared. This man had become his surrogate father. A man who had gone from trusted mentor to friend to family after he lost his Uncle; he could not lose him, too. He turned on a brave face, "Hey, Yangcrates, I'm going to need your help. But you can't help me if they arrest you...or kill you. I'll try to get in touch when we're all safe. Hurry. Go!"
