Nandini sits with Samar in a cafe, shocked by his proclamation.
Samar: Nandini, I want to marry you.
Nandini: Tum.. Tum ne toh abhi mujhse kaha ki your parents wouldn't interfere anymore. Aur fir tum propose kar rhe ho? I thought you made that gesture thaki hum dono ek dusre ko jan paye bina kisi pressure ke!
Samar: It'll make my parents happy, sure, but it's irrelevant. Mere parents isme involved nahi hai , nor are yours. I want to marry you.
Nandini: Um.. Tum mujhse shadi kyu karna chahte ho?
Samar: You must be joking.
Nandini: Mein sach me serious hu.
Samar: from the sultry , passionate woman I met at the party, to the woman jisne meri chai kharab kar di ti on our interview... I can't get you out of my head.
Nandini: Aur tumhe lagta hai shadi karne se sab thik ho jayega?.
Samar: Mujhe lagta hai ki shadi karne se we'll be able to explore this intense desire without boundaries.
Nandini: "Explore this desire"? Such Romance.
Samar: Hum adults hai, Nandini. Romance is for children.Samar's words hit Nandini like a bucket of ice.
Nandini: Mein koi bachi nahi hu, fir bhi mujhe aisi relationship chahie jisme romance hi romance ho!
Samar: Acha theek hai. Mein tumhare liye ek Romantic Pati ban sakta hu, I guess.
Nandini: I.. I don't know.
Samar: You're unlikely to get a better offer.
Nandini: Kya?
Samar: Not because of anything you did, but. ..Mihika's scandal has ruined you. You know that.
Nandini (angrily) : Ruined? I'm anything but ruined. You don't know me at all if you think ki meri didi ki relationship history has any affect on my shine.
Samar: Her affair with that married man is well known in our community. She's infamous aur sab-
Nandini: Samar! This has nothing to do with us.
Samar: It sort of does.
Nandini: Kaise?
Samar: Fair or not, everyone blames your sister, and that's a stain against your family name. Tumhe zyada marriage offers nahi aayenge. Log sochte hai ki tum bhi ek homewrecker banogi.
Nandini: My sister was 19 when all that happened, pata hai. He was in his 30's. She was his victim, just like his wife.
Samar: I agree. Woh shadi shuda tha, aur he cheated. She was barely an adult. But tumhe pata hai na how this world works.
Nandini: I don't care how the world works! I care how my husband thinks!
Samar: Tum mere upar kyu chilla rahi ho?
Nandini: Oh, mein chilla rahi hu? Or are YOU being an a**hole.Samar blinks, looking confused.
Samar: Tumhe bas sach sunna pasand nahi hai.
Nandini: I don't like men with no imagination mere future pe limits daale. Tumhe lagta hai ki mein tumhare sath meri zindagi share karungi when you talk like that about my sister?
Samar: I'm not judging her. I'm just saying that an offer from the Shah family is almost generous, agar tum consider karo tho. Marry me and we both win. I get you and you get the most eligible bachelor's proposal. Win-win.Nandini shoves her phone and car keys onto her purse, stringing it around her shoulder.
Nandini: oh, thank you, kind sir. Thank you very much. I can't believe the word "stained", of all things, come up in my first marriage proposal.
Samar: Tum bas galat cheezo pe focus kar rahi ho. Humare beech achi chemistry hai. The rest can be worked out.
Nandini: Tumne kaha ki I won't be able to find a man who wants me! What the hell is wrong with you?
Samar: There's nothing wrong with me. I'm just trying to help you.Nandini stands from the table, attempting to maintain an exterior Calm.
Samar: where are you going?
Nandini: Kahi bhi but yaha aur nahi ruk sakti.
Samar: Why?
Nandini: Kyuki, you have the emotional IQ of a block of wood!
Samar (getting angry) : Excuse me?
Nandini: You think my family "stain" outweighs me as a woman. I expect that someone who truly loves me won't think twice about it. Aur I don't plan to marry someone who insults not only my family, but mujhe bhi during my marriage proposal.
