The day of Pinky's wedding, Nandini walks down the stairs to the kitchen with a spritely step.

Nandini: Morning , Amma.
Amma: Beta, tum toh glow kar rai ho. Are you looking forward for tonight's wedding?
Nandini: You know I'm not a huge fan of shadis and parties.
Amma: Yes, but this time I invited Samar and his family. Pinky ki family ne bura nahi maana, since they want as big a wedding as possible.
Nandini: Yes... I heard about that.

She pours herself a cup of coffee and sits by her mother's side.

Nandini: Aur, Amma... I want to have the independence with Samar. Maine suna ki he's going to be my date for Pinky's wedding from Mihika.
Amma: Oops. I guess it slipped my mind.
Nandini: I want to be the one making the dates, not being the last one to find out about them.
Amma: Agli baar I'll do better job of keeping you informed, then.

Nandini puts a hand on her mother's arm.

Nandini: Mujhe pata hai ki aap aur appa are getting anxious about us not reaching a decision yet.
Amma: The whole process is so out of the protocol. Mujhe toh ye bi ni pata ki what to do with myself.

Nandini forces a smile.

Amma: Mujhe lagta hai ki tum behtar samjhti ho, beta. Did you see that article your father printed out Samar ke last project ke bare mein? Such intricate work.
Nandini: Uh huh... Aisa lagta hai ki woh ek bohot hi hard working aadmi hai.
Amma: Mujhe khushi hai ki tum ye dekh sakti ho .
Nandini: He ran his family business so well that his dad retired. Mujhe pata hai he's talented and good with money aur all those things.
Amma: It would certainly be nice to have a man like that take care of you.
Nandini: Mein apna job chodke ek housewife nhi banna chahti, Amma.
Amma: Mujhe pata hai! Par being taken care of is more than that. If this is how he works, socho woh tumhe kitna pyar dega. Woh kehte hai na, the way a man does something, is how he does everything.

Excusing herself from the table, Nandini decides that a cold shower might be the cure for this fever. Later that afternoon, Mihika arrives to help her dress up. When Nandini sees her, her jaw drops . She fluffs her voluminous hair and stands in perfect afternoon light as if by accident.

Mihika: Kya hua?

Mihika's look

Nandini: Geez, Mihika... Tum ek movie star jaisi dikh rahi ho.
Mihika: Shut up. You're going to look better once we're done with you. Dekhte hai. Tumhe kya pehnna chahiye? Ye devastating hona chahiye agar tum mere sath compete kar rahi ho toh, choti behen.
Nandini: How about something...

Her look

Nandini: Mujhe ye acha laga. Tumhe kya lagta hai?
Mihika: Mujhe lagta hai meri choti behen is coming for my crown.
Nandini: Acha thik hai! Mein ready hu.
Mihika: Remember when we used to dress in Amma's sarees jab hum chote the? We were swimming in linen, par humne kabhi care nahi kiya.
Nandini: Mein toh ek kadam nhi le sakti thi bina tripping! Oi, Mihi? We should get together often. Tumhe pata hai, family time ke alawa.

Mihika raises her eyebrows in surprise.

Mihika: Mujhe acha lagega.

A couple of hours later they're both walking into the grand wedding Hall side by side. Nandini suddenly distinguishes among the crowd one pair of eyes staring directly at her.

His look

Mihika: Who is that smoking-hot hunk of deliciousness?
Nandini: Oh, woh? He's mine. Back off. Sochna bhi math.
Mihika: Nandini. I would never. You're my sister.
Nandini: I know you don't intentionally steal men, Mihi. Tum bas kind of flirt. So, please math karna.
Mihika: You have a point, but this time, mujhe nahi lagta. Agar mein chahu bhi , he hasn't looked at me once.

Samar's lip quirks as their (sanan) gazes catch together, and he waves.

Mihika: I'm honestly not 100% sure ki woh tumhara naya boyfriend hai.
Nandini: Oh yeah? Watch this. Mein apne launde ko hi kehke aati hu. Be right back.
Mihika: Take your time.
