The hot blazing sun powered down on Rebecca as she sat and watched her fake boyfriend play football with her family...and ex fiancé. She had sweat dripping down her face so she couldn't even imagine what Colby and the boys were going through.Richie stopped during the breaks and carried some water over there to them, but Rebecca was getting worried about them getting sun burnt. The wedding was in a week, and if they got burnt, Katie would be mad.
Rebecca had been talking to her mother for almost an hour now. "I'm just really glad to be home." She said smiling up at Annette. "I really needed a break."
Annette laughed and patted Rebecca's shoulders. "Well I'm glad you're here. I've missed you."
Rebecca looked up at her and gave her a sympathetic smile. "I've missed you more mom."
When she saw Richie come over and throw Katie his shirt and start applying sun screen, her attention moved over to the rest of the men, whose wife's and girlfriends were applying sunscreen on them. Rebecca then looked over to her right to see Colby walking towards her with his shirt off.
Oh my god. I knew he was hot...but holy moly. Colby smiled at her as he reached her. "You ok there Red?"
Rebecca then batted her eyelashes realizing she had spaced out and looked up at him. "I'm fine! How about you?"
Colby nodded and tossed his shirt down on the table next to them. "I'm doing good. I was just needing sunscreen so I won't get burnt...so would you put it on me?"
Colby was staring down at her smirking. He had sweat dripping off of him and his hair—that was in a messy bun—was frizzed. Rebecca then looked around her to see everyone else getting layered in sunscreen, and when Bryan shook his head at her, she pressed her lips together and looked back up at Colby. "Of course! That's what girlfriends are for." She said standing up making Annette laugh.
Katie must have heard her too because she laughed as well. "Make sure you layer him Becks. If my pictures are ruined because of lobster looking men I'm going to scream."
Rebecca chuckled and grabbed a bottle of sunscreen and squeezed it out on her hands. "How's football going?"
Colby nodded as he turned around so she could start applying. "Pretty good. I've tackled Bryan at least 8 times."
Rebecca chuckled as she touched his back. She had never touched Colby like this, and she was trying to keep breathing so her family wouldn't realize she was about to die from touching the hottest man alive. She started rubbing it in and chuckled again, "That's good. Maybe you'll knock some sense into him."
Colby chuckled and spread his arms out. "Hey I was thinking..." Colby looked back at her as she spread the sunscreen on his lower back. "Maybe tonight me and you go for dinner? I was going to let you choose since you know more about Ireland than me."
Rebecca's heart warmed as she removed her hand from his back. "That sounds like a great idea. I've got the perfect place in mind." She patted his back one more time before wiping her hands off. "You're done."
Colby nodded and bent down to kiss her cheek, making sure Bryan was watching them. "Thank you love."
Rebecca nodded and smiled. "Anytime."
"All right boys!" Richie called out after he kissed Katie. "Who's ready for some more football!?"
. . . . . . .
After everyone said their goodbyes, Rebecca and Colby found themselves going back to Rebecca's house. They needed to get cleaned up before dinner, and Rebecca needed time to make sure the restaurant was still a thing.
Rebecca was laying on the couch scrolling through her phone when Colby walked downstairs. She turned her head and saw him in his underwear walking into the kitchen to grab a snack.
Rebecca didn't want to stare, but she couldn't help it. Today was the first day she had seen his upper body, and now he was strolling through the house in nothing but his boxers. "What?"
Colby must have caught Rebecca staring at him. Rebecca shook her head and sat up dropping her phone on the coffee table. "Oh- uhm- nothing. I was just making sure you didn't get burnt."
Colby nodded and walked into the living room where she was sitting. He sat down on the coffee table in front of her staring into her eyes. "You sure that's what you were doing?"
Colby smirked which made Rebecca look down. He knows what he's doing. He's trying to flirt. "Yeah I'm sure."
Colby nodded again and smiled taking her hand in his. Rebecca looked down when she felt him playing with her ring. Rebecca smiled as she watched him. "I didn't know you had this." Colby said looking up at her. "Where did you get it?"
Rebecca smiled and looked down. "Uhm...my dad gave it to me before he died." Colby's head jerked up and met her eyes. "It was the last birthday present he ever gave to me..."
Colby smiled. "Well, it's beautiful. Just like you."
Rebecca smiled and chuckled. "Smooth Lopez. Smooth."
Colby then stood up and pulled Rebecca up. "Are we still going out?"
Rebecca nodded and rested her hands on his chest. "Yeah..." When she saw the look in his eyes, she blushed. "Unless you had other plans..." She whispered softly.
Colby smirked and leaned down pressing his lips near her ear, making her shiver. "Nah let's go out."
Rebecca stood there frozen as she watched him move upstairs. She listened as the bathroom door shut and a few minutes later it opened again. She then heard Colby walk back down the stairs. "Alright I'm ready."
Rebecca then shook her head and looked around. "Yeah. Ok, yeah." She then grabbed her shoes and put them on before grabbing her keys. "Let's go!"
